Cinnamon scones

                                    Cinnamon scones

           Serves:8-12. Cooking time:15 mins.  Pre-heat oven to:425 degrees.

2 cups flour                                        
           
1/3 cup sugar                                                     
1 tablespoon baking powder               
1 teaspoon cinnamon                           
6 tablespoons cold butter, cut up
1/2 cup cream or half & half
1 egg
1 bag Hershey's cinnamon chips

Sift together 1st four ingredients.  Cut in butter with a pastry blender or two knives,
blending until mixture resembles course crumbs.  Stir in chips.  Mix together half & half and egg, and stir into dry ingeredients, pressing dough against the sides of bowl until all ingredients are mixed through. 

Place dough on floured surface and form into a 8 inch circle.  Cut into 8 or 12 wedges and place on baking sheet about 1 inch apart.  We use a silpat mat.  Bake 12-15 minutes until gloden brown.

Drizzle with icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teas. cinnamon
enough milk to make it drizzly
(add a little at a time)

HI Rachel, Thank you so much for the recipe for cinammon chip scones. They are HEAVENLY! I decided that surely the Lord will have them as treats for us as we worship Him for eternity. :) Seriously, I searched all over and yours was one of the few recipes that I could find for cinammon scones. They are amazing, so easy, and even better than the scones I've had at restaurants.
I think it's awesome that your parents are so unselfish and dedicated to home school you! I did it for my junior year of high school.
