Jul. 18, 2009 - Note on the video
This video is of Beaker, the Swedish Chef, and Animal off of the Muppets singing the song, "Danny Boy," which is supposed to be a sad, Irish song. I've never heard the original version, but this is hilarious, nonetheless!
Anyway, watch the video, then leave a comment telling me who your favorite singer was!

Jul. 10, 2009 - 4th of July, Roosters, and Field peas
Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a greath 4th of July! Comment on this post and I'll read about yours if I can. Well, for my 4th of July two friends of ours came over and we shot off fireworks and ate! We had ribs, hot dog weenies, potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, and ice cream! It was really good! The fireworks were really neat, but Elijah (whose birthday was yesterday) was scared of them so Mama kept him in the house. She came out to see the big one, though! It was pretty fun! We picked a mess of field peas (and a couple of bags of green beans) at my Bobo's (grandad's) farm and spent like 3 days shelling them all. When I thought we were almost done I found some more bags.
Nice, huh? We got to watch a lot of movies, though! Including "Gone with the Wind," which we hadn't seen in a long time! Anyway, about the rooster, we were all sitting around the dinner table and Daddy said, "Oh, no, Lucy's got the rooster!" (Lucy is our English setter, who happens to be a bird dog
) so all us kids ran outside to scare Lucy away and look at it. Before I got there, one of my sisters said "It's still breathing; it's still alive!" So I went over there and squatted down. The other kids asked me if I thought it was gonna make it, and I shook my head "no". I reached over to pick it up and it hopped up and ran away!
We chased it for a while before we caught it and put it back up. He's doing fine! I was really disappointed because I thought he was dead because I read in Uncle John's Fast-Acting, Long-Lasting Bathroom Reader that if there is no rooster in a herd of chickens one hen will quit laying eggs, protect the herd, and crow! I don't know if that is accurate, but if it is, I'd sure hate to lose a layer! Not all my hens lay eggs, and I sure don't want any less! Oh, yeah, Elijah had a really good birthday yesterday! He loved all his presents and had a good monkey cake. It was really cute. I'll see if I can post a picture later. Well, that's about it for this post.

I love this! Pippin and Sam are my favorite hobbits! I really like Gandalf, too. I'm hoping to get some LOTR action figures soon! They are so cool (and slightly geeky
)! Well, TTYL!!

Jul. 2, 2009 - A Story of God's Hand in My Life
Well hello everyone! Yesterday and today were really crazy for me. I'll tell ya a little background story first. I wanted to learn Italian this year for an elective, but then some circumstances led me to believe that God wanted me to learn the Indian language of Hindi (for missions purposes). I thought about it for a few days, prayed, and talked to my parents about my upcoming decision. Daddy contacted an Indian man he works with and he said that Hindi wouldn't be a profitable language to learn, unless I were doing it for fun. He recommended Spanish, French, or German. Mama suggested Spanish, but I didn't want to learn that because it's such a common high school language, and I wanted to do something different. She told me learning Spanish would have its ministry opportunities also, and I finally decided Spanish.
Well, yesterday I read a story about someone in Guatemala who encouraged a lady who lived there to ask the villagle schoolteacher to read her her Bible. He got saved! I thought about how incredible it would be to see people saved like that. Then I remembered an article about things single young ladies could do after school. It suggested staying with and helping a missionary family for 6 months. THEN I remembered that a nice couple who taught Mama at a private school are missionaries in Mexico, and I thought I might could help them out. THEN I remembered that I am learning Spanish! Is that perfect or what? I don't know how it will all work out, but I am really excited! I'd really love to go to Mexico and stay with them! Today I had this overwhelming joy because I know God is in control and He is working in my life. I mean HOW INCREDIBLE it is that the Creator of the universe loves me and cares about my problems enough to work in my life like this! HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD! An addition to this story: like the day before all this happened, I asked God for some work to do for Him! Amazing, huh?
I know this is a ridiculously long post ... sorry! Well, I hope you were touched by this little story of mine. Please pray for God's guidance and peace with this idea and, well, my whole life! Thank you all for being such great friends!

Jun. 25, 2009 - My First Post :)
Hey everyone! I'm Lindsey and this is my brand new blog! My friend greenpeppermint helped me make it. I hope you like it! If so, comment!
Today has been busy. I finished my schoolwork before lunch (because I was ahead in math and english). Then later we went to Hobby Lobby, my favorite store! It was fun, but I had no money. That's probably a good thing, since I have enough crafts and projects laying around to keep me busy for the rest of my life!
Elijah took a few steps today! He'll be able to walk soon. His b-day is July 9th and we're going to the zoo. He loves animals. He says "kitty" really good and can make several animal noises! Oh, yeah, this morning I had a really bad nosebleed. My nose has been driving me bonkers lately! It itches all the time waaayyy up in the top. Sometimes I rub my nose (from the outside
) really hard in circles and it starts bleeding profusely. Don't worry, I've been messing with it a lot lately
, that's probably why. Anyway, I can't find how to change my profile anywhere on my manager, so I'll type a retraction to something here. I am no longer Josh Groban's biggest fan, so he shouldn't be on my interests list anymore. If you can tell me how to change that on my profile... HELP!
Just leave a comment and I'll pick it up later. Thanks! I would also like to apologize to my friends MBF and Joyful24. I deleted the post that was on here and they had commented on it. It was nothing against y'all! Well, that's enough, I guess! Oh, in case you were wondering, I am also honeysmama13 and Yorkielover13. TTYL!
