Over the first hump...

Baby girl made it through surgery today just fine.  They gave her a blood transfusion this morning and that made her vitals look even better--so thankful for those of you who give blood!

When they went in to check out the bowel, they found that all but 1/3 of it had pinked back up and was alive!!!!  PRAISE THE LORD!!!!  They only had resect 1/3 of the bowel from the stomach outward.  That accounts for about 4 FEET () of small intestines.  However, Dr said that if anything had to come out that was the ideal section...it is where the LEAST amt of absorption of nutrients takes place.

So, now what...

Well, baby girl has a good 2 wks in the hospital, so I have taken up residency in the Pediatric ICU of the hospital.  I figure if I have to live there, then it is going to have to be spruced up!  So, I am searching my own home for things that are allowed to be in the unit as decoration.  If any of you have spent any amount of time in a hospital, please let me know some of the things you did to make that tiny room as inviting as possible!

Thank you again for all the prayers!!!!

I am praying for your sweet girl. I am so glad the surgery went well. My pastor when we lived in Hawaii had a little son who had intessuption (spelling???) of the bowels when he was about a year old.
