• 11/29/2006 - Another Youth Group night...
I will not do a long ranting and raving tonight. Tonight didn't have too much stuff to type about...But here's my Night at Youth Group:
We (shadeslayer and I) arrived at my Church for dinner. They had Lasagna and chicken and salad and garlic bread. I got all of it...except the lasagna. ^^. And I didn't eat any of the salad. lol But after we ate, we went out around the Church. We were just randomly talking (I don't even remember what it was about now). Suddenly a flock of little kids appeared. Shadeslayer's instinct was run. Mine was to scream. Mine also had the funnier outcome. =P Basically, my high pitched scream startled a little kid. Well, little as in 7-8. So after that, we go up the hill behind my church and there are these people playing Football. And I decided that the night would be much more enjoyable if I wasn't handicapped for it. Anyway, after Shadeslayer's running after me and trying to kill me due to me smashing cups on his back, we went in to Youth Group. We then went out and played Capture the Flag (oh noez return of the flag-stealing n00bzorz). Shadeslayer had the idea of me hiding in a tree, and the flag being right underneath me, so I could fall upon (litterally) anyone who decided to steal the flag. Good idea, except for the fact that the other team saw me after my first attempt at tagging someone, and called it Puppy Guarding. So then I went up to the line. Soon after, William (fast, smallish dude who's on the other team) runs for our flag. After a skirmish of 6th graders trying to stop him but failing, he almost made it back over. But I managed to dive after him and tag his shoe right before the line. So then the flag was basically at the line. Andrew (my height, fastish dude who's on the other team) starts running towards the spot where the flag originally was. He then found out that it wasn't there and died (was tagged). Then, both teams got into an arguement about something smal, I don't think I ever knew what it was, and Brandon (small, fastish annoying dude who's on my team) walks/runs over to their side, gets a jailbreak and walks back with the flag. So I guess we won. =P Then we came in. We didn't do much of a lesson, but this is what we did do:
We had a goodbye party for Molly and Rachel (2 girls, age 11 and 13 I think) who were moving the next day. We all gathered around in a circle and Andrew M. (Big guy who is in charge of youth group) made us all say our farewells/positive things that we would miss about Rachel and Molly/Things that they've done for us. Shadeslayer said that Rachel made him afraid of Loud noises (due to intense screaming quite often on her part). Then, Haley (Rachel's best friend) called Andrew M. over his phone. She was (i guess) sick and couldn't come, but she had prepared a long speech-type thingie about Rachel. It was touching, and made Molly and Rachel quote emotional. After that, we basically were done. It was then saying good bye to Rachel and Molly.
So an emotional night tonight. No ranting or raving.
