The Return of The Nutcracker Continued...

The next day after school, Clarissa had her ballet lessons to go to. The class would be performing at a hospital nearby for some soldiers. Luckily enough, Clarissa had her own little solo to do; she was quite a talented little dancer. Her teacher, Miss Dortank, had had a mother who met Tchaikovsky when most of the town lived in Russia. They had then come down to America in hope of finding better land. They did and that was how Clarissa’s family came to be so rich. They owned large farm. But that’s enough of history; let’s get back to ballet class. Clara was packing up her things when someone said at her shoulder: “I’m looking forward to the party next week, Clarissa. It will be so much fun!”

That was when Clarissa remembered this was the last week of ballet before they all performed for the hospital. Clarissa’s family always gave a Christmas party for all their friends. But it would be very different without father. Clarissa went home and an idea struck in her head. “Mother,” she said when she got home,” I’ve found a little Nutcracker in my room. Do think we could crack nut for entertainment at our party?” “Well,” her mother said,” I suppose so. We’ll need all the entertainment we can get. Without your father here…” “Thank you mother.” Clarissa said. After Dinner she went to bed thinking of all the fun things that would happen at the grand Christmas party….   To be Continued...
