Restoring Hebrew Roots to walk with Messiah!
Sep. 27, 2006
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's been FOR EVER since posting!  My deepest apologies!

May Adonai Bless you and Keep you for the New Year!

We are looking forward to Sukkot...we thought we had something to use as a Sukkah this year at our home in AL that sold, but alas, it has gone missing, so I am up to having to figure out how to do one on a budget of 'nothing'....

Oh!  We ARE looking for people who want to write 'guest articles' for our new site: http://www.restoringhebrewroots.com

If any one is interested, email me at dlm@restoringhebrewroots.com

Well, enough for now.

Blessings in our Risen Messiah Yeshua!

Donna

Bearing my heart!

I would like to share with you a 'place' that my strong and loving Abba has brought me to in this Walk in His Whole Word....it is much like Paul (Shual) shares in the 'Love Letter' below. I am NOT adding to it, I just want to show why this means something to me....

The Complete Jewish Bible   1 Corinthians 13

13:1 I may speak in the tongues of men, even angels; but if I lack love, I have become merely blaring brass or a cymbal clanging.

13:2 I may have the gift of prophecy, I may fathom all mysteries, know all things, have all faith - enough to move mountains; but if I lack love, I am nothing.

13:3  I may give away everything that I own, I may even hand over my body to be burned; but if I lack love, I gain nothing.

When first seeing the the Whole Scriptures and attempting to 'follow' - I guess I did not see Torah as instruction but rather as a tool to show others how wrong they were....if not directly, then by my 'super-knowlege and spiritual nature' (this of course is also a Jezabel spirit) and almost become so zealous that it was offensive. Now being ZEALOUS is not wrong it the Spirit, but taking that zeal into our own hands and our own strength is wrong and it's warped.

13:4 Love is patient and kind, not jealous, not boastful,

13:5 not proud, rude or selfish, not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs.

13:6 Love does not gloat over other people's sins but takes its delight in the truth.

When I began to see the light of Torah as it fit puzzle pieces together I did get excited - yet I handled it wrong (in my flesh) and all the above bolded words were exhibited in me....I was not loving my friends and family to want to seek G~d's Torah, I was pushing my 'vast knowlege' (read sarcasticly please) upon them, I was angry at the 'church' and thier blindness and it did nothing to draw them to G~d or to me....

13:7

Love always bears up, always trusts, always hopes, always endures.

13:8

Love never ends; but prophecies will pass, tongues will cease, knowledge will pass.

13:9 For our knowledge is partial, and our prophecy partial;

If only I had realized that before ostrocizing some people that I love. Or at best causing them resentment when I brought up the Roots of our Faith in Messiah!

13:10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass.

13:11  When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, argued like a child; now that I have become a man, I have finished with childish ways.

Okay...this is my biggest point (finally! huh?) ... children argue over who is right and who is wrong...children want what they *think* they deserve....children often look to all kinds of input for guidance....

By putting away childish things, I will WILL to SHOW Love - even to those who I think are wrong. I know I deserve nothing for 'my vast knowlege' (read sarcasticly please), I will hold myself accountable first to G~d - then to hubby - and to a group of Sisters who are on the same walk as me but I am NOT searching in books, commentaries and teachings for 'who is right' - because the WORD is all that is right and Ruach HaKodesh is in me (and y'all) to guide us since we have put away childish things! I am tired of looking for a pagan root behind every little coffee cup! and then feeling like I have to point it out!!! ARG! That's not LOVE....not mature LOVE anyway...

13:12 For now we see obscurely in a mirror, but then it will be face to face. Now I know partly; then I will know fully, just as God has fully known me.

Oh for me to REMEMBER that I may understand much...but it is SO LITTLE that I should always remain humbled!

Sorry it got long! ....but it is what He had on my heart that we have so much MORE TO DO than to focus on what others are doing 'wrong'...I am in so much more need of HIS WORK that who am I to point out what other's need Him to 'fix'!

Blessings in our Risen Messiah!

Since some people think we're a cult....

Something from my yahoo group...

It's funny this came up.  My SIL actually came to realize that she was sucked in by a cult mentality for 5 years.  To define a 'cult' - the leader is controlling and manipulative, gives overt rewards when a person pleases him/her, refers to those who are 'with' him/her as 'elite', 'elect' and berate others for thier faith if it differs.....there are more cults with a 'christian' title to them than most people realize.

When I started embracing the Root - and seeing Truth, I will say I became so zealous for it (not in the Spirit as much in my flesh) that I was abrasive to those who still hung on to chirstmas, easter etc.  To me - I could see them (or anyone) seeing that I was in a 'cult' - I was acting as if *I* (with this new-found Truth) had all the answers - my way was all RIGHT and their way was all WRONG.  This attituded adds to the 'cult' misconception.  PLEASE HEAR ME - I am not saying 'all roads of belief lead to heaven/salvation' - that is not true...but Spiritual Arrogance/Pride was also the FIRST SIN (the one of HaSatan) and the most deadly.

I will say that I didn't realize how many 'factions' there were within the Messi movement until a few months ago...that actually disturbs me (much like denominations did when I was in the church).  Is it true that there ARE Messianic bodies that deny the diety of Yeshua?  If so, how can they be considered Messianic?

Rambled enough.  (o:

As Soon As the Crop Is Ready

“This is the kingdom of God: it is like a man [who] casts seed on the earth. [He] sleeps, and [he] wakes up, and night and day the seed springs up and grows—[though] he does not know how. For by itself the earth brings forth fruit—first the stalk, after that the head, after that the full grain in the head. And as soon as the crop [is ready to] yield itself, immediately the man sends forth the sickle, because the harvest has come.” Mark 4:26-29

What proof do we have that the seed we scatter is the same seed that sprouts and grows? The evidence is all circumstantial. We reason that since something grows where we have scattered, it has indeed grown from our seed. The reality is that we never actually witness the seed from the moment it leaves our hand and is tilled in the ground—we simply trust that what we have planted is what will grow. At night we sleep, during the day we are awake—but how it grows, we just don’t know.

“By itself,” the Scriptures say, the soil produces a crop—the “earth brings forth fruit” of herself. What a mystery! It is not the seed or the sower that produces the crop, but the soil “by itself,” with no help from man. The man’s work has already been done: he scattered the seed on the ground. Once embedded in its birthing place, life springs forth—life from the soil of the earth.

“First the stalk,” the support structure, planted deep in the life-giving soil. “After that the head,” the housing for the fruit of the crop. “After that the full grain in the head,” the fruit comes forth in abundance. In perfect time and godly order, life gives way to fullness—the seedling grows to maturity.

From its humble beginnings as a seed in a farmer’s hand, the destiny of the seedling is realized—it has reached its fullest potential. But even in its grandest state, it stands there, pristine, yet failing to serve its ultimate purpose. It is mature and can grow no more—“the crop is ready,” yet it does not live up to its goal. Finally, “the man sends forth the sickle.” Life gives birth to death—the crop is cut down in its prime, now able to finally fulfill its destiny.

We, like the farmer’s seed, have been scattered on the ground—but He is calling us today to sprout and grow. How, we won’t know. But by itself, the Spirit produces a crop. The Lord is calling us to lay down our lives, for the time is at hand when the head will be full of grain. And as soon as the crop is ready, He will come with his sickle. Let us yield ourselves, “because the harvest has come.”

P R A Y E R

Lord, God, grow me up to cut me down—mature me to my fullest potential, then take me for yourself and use me for your purposes. Abba, I surrender to you, for I cannot know how seeds sprout and grow. Only you, Creator, can fathom this mystery. I bless your Name, O God, for you are Great. Scatter me, God, and give me life; make my crops ready, and come for your harvest….

FIRST BLOG!!!

I tend to compartmentalize my writing - so this is a second blog for me. I am on my own friends list (hehehe) so I can link and check up quick!

Just a tid-bit about why I'm here:

I am passionate for the return of Hebrew Roots to the walk with our Messiah (Jesus). IF we are truly asking ourselves "What would Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew) Do?" Shouldn't we DO what HE DID?

The Word was WITH God and the Word WAS God...right? So He was there when the 'Law' (Torah=Instructions) was given to Moses (Moshe)...why would He go back on His Own Instructions...IF we serve the God Who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow...why have we tried to FIT Him into our way of worshipping just because it's habit passed down since the decree of Constantine (the pagan blending into followers of Jesus)?

ANYWAY....Terms I will use:

I will mostly use the word "Hebrew" rather than "Jewish". The term Jewish has mental connotations of a religion...Jesus was/is the BEST follower of true Judaism there ever was/is!! "Hebrew" conjures thoughts of a blood-line, a race and a culture. The ones chosen by Adonai...yes, Jews = Hebrews. The Hebrew Nation was set apart to be our EXAMPLE. Like all of us, they are a flawed example - but God is not flawed in His dealings with them, nor with us.

I love Israel. I love His Chosen People. To restore the TRUE Root to our faith in Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus) will bring clarity to the Jews of all their prophecies fulfilled in Him as the Lamb of God! What better way to provoke a people to SEE than to ACT as Messiah did when He was in His earthly Tabernacle!!

Please, Really Follow IN His Steps and Restore Hebrew Roots to our Faith!

Blessings in our Risen Messiah!

Donna
