Hi! Heidi,
Did you want our most memorable field trips here or as an email? I have one from when I was a child that I never forgot. It was so great that I wanted to take my children there and I did. Things are a little different today then when I went but I think they enjoyed it.
When I was in second grade we went on a field trip to Coggeshall Farm. It is an 18th century farm that puts on special field trips and family days. We went at the time when the new lambs were born. I remember spending the whole day taking care of this one baby lamb. I was even able to feed it by bottle. I absolutely loved it and never forgot. I always wished I could live on a farm like that.
It isn't an exciting field trip but it is one I have never forgotten. It is just the simple life that I have always wanted.

Oops. I didn't know Marissa was signed in, and I didn't pay any attention. Told you my brain was in a fog. I'm also too tired this morning to change it right now! Anyway, that was me above.

May. 16, 2007 - Best Field Trip

I could think of several great field trips that we've been on, so I did a blog entry listing some of them and sharing a bit about my favorite. It's at: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/kympossible/328543/
My favorite trip though, was a weekend encampment at Camp Flintlock. Our group lived for a weekend in revolutionary war period style - cooking over a fire, playing colonial games, sleeping in tents, and learning how to do things like shoot a musket and throw a tomahawk.
Blessings,
Kym

My most memorable field trip was when we visited High Desert Museum in Bend, OR. The whole family enjoyed it a lot. We got to explore the wildlife, living history, and landscapes of 8 western states. It was so fun to see live animals up close (eg. the lynx, bobcat, porcupine, river otter, owl, etc.) We also saw the 1880s homestead, the 19th century sawmill, the traditions & contemporary lifestyles of the Columbia River Plateau Indians, and more. We covered both science and history in one field trip :)!
