Latin~ suggestions and recommendations, please
*I'm going to leave this "sticky" at the top of my blog for a few days, as I'm really hoping for some HELP with this one!
We are planning to use Where the Brook and River Meet with Ashley for next school year. I'm anxious to try to whole unit study thing and see how that works out for us. I would LOVE to hear from anyone who has used this in the past~ please tell me your experience with it, pros and cons, any suggestions you may have for making our school year fun and productive.
In addition to this book, we only need to add in a math program (not a problem, as we'll continue with VideoText algebra), a science program (we'll be using Apologia's Biology), and seperate grammar and Latin courses.
That's where YOU come in (if you're not already answering from paragraph one, and even if you are!).......I'd love to hear about any Latin course that you've used. I'm not really familiar with any of them. So, tell me titles, where they can be purchased, what you liked and disliked about it, would you recommend it, etc. You know, your basic review~ positive or negative.
Also, if you have something to recommend for high school grammar, that would be great too. The book says it's not needed if "your child is proficient in grammar". Well.........(that's all I'm going to say!)
Help, please! Our school year next year is dependent on it!
NOTE: If you would prefer to share about your Latin experiences (or your thoughts on Where the Brook and River Meet) on your own blog, that's fine too. Please just sign the Mr. Linky below with your name and a direct link to your post. I so appreciate it (and so do a few friends of mine who are also interested in Latin!)

Latin? That poor thing. LOL.
I took Latin in high school and never understood why. I'm sure there is some good reason... right?

Hi Heidi!
Sorry that I can't be of much help to you with your schooling questions. I can, however, say a BIG thank you for your faithfulness to praying for my mother & family. She made it through her surgery great.
I love your valentine blog. Too cute! Have a great rest of the week.
Love ya, Lori

I'm surprised to see that Ash will be taking biology next year; usually 9th graders take Earth Science and then continue with the bio/chem/physics sequence. We encourage them to stick with that unless they're planning to the AP Environmental Sci class later in high school. I know that the curriculum you use doesn't offer Earth Sci, but I hate to think she's going to miss out on it completely. It really is an important class, regardless of how some of the religious "scientists" paint it. I should stop now, before I get myself into trouble...
