Family Squeeze Review

Summary: You’re in the “Middle Ages”–sandwiched between the “greatest generation” and the “gimme” generations, busily juggling both with no relief in sight. Children are driving, and parents are not. Money is tight and so are your favorite jeans. And things that never ached before are beginning to give you trouble! For every baby boomer who wonders if it’s possible to navigate the Middle Ages with grace and style, Phil Callaway offers plenty of hope and a little hilarity, too. Because there’s nothing like a smile to make wrinkles less noticeable.
Author Bio: Described as “Dave Barry with a message,” author, speaker, and television host Phil Callaway has written twenty books, many of them bestsellers and is a popular speaker at conferences, camps and marriage retreats, coaxing laughter and tears from audiences worldwide. Of his personal accomplishments he rates the following highest: shutting off the TV to listen to his children’s questions (twice), taking out the garbage without being told (once), and convincing his high school sweetheart Ramona to marry him (once).
I absolutely LOVE this book! Family Squeeze is BY FAR one of THE BEST non-fiction books that I have read in a long time. Phil Callaway is so humorous and has such an amazing way of telling stories! I spent about 1/2 the book laughing so hard that my side hurt, listening to Gracie say "what's so funny, Mom?!" During the other 1/2 of the book, I was wiping tears. What is categorized (by the publisher) as Christian Living/Relationships/Family Concerns, is so very easy to read, that it's more like an autobiography of Phil's life~ the time when you're stuck somewhere between your aging parents and your teenagers.
Because I loved this one so much, I'm gifting my parents with the extra copy that I received, as I believe it will be as much of a joy for them to read as it was for me (and, truthfully, I don't want to give my copy away!) So, because I can't give a copy to each of you, I'm going to leave you with a video that I found on Youtube~ this is Phil, telling his publishers about the book~ I think you'll all enjoy it. After watching the video, I'd really encourage you to go out and buy the book. It's well worth the $13.99 you'll spend on it! The book is funny, touching, and bound to contain something that you'll be able to relate to.
