Favorite Books?!
This week's topic is to share our FAVORITE BOOKS. Now that's a bit general for someone who is reading all the time (or at least in the little bit of spare time I make for myself each night before bedtime). I've read some great books lately, so I'd encourage you to read down through my recent blog posts or click on the links in my left-hand sidebar to find out more about some of the books I've been reading.
Now, if you want to know my favorite HOMESCHOOL books, let's see......
Well, I absolutely love the Mystery of History! I think that, by far, it is the best history program I have seen. I love the chronological approach, and mixing Biblical and World history together. Since studying through these 2 books (vol. 1 and 2) we have all learned a TON! I have also reviewed some great homeschool-related books that you can learn more about by clicking on the links. My most recent review (which isn't online yet) was for the Five in a Row program~ how sweet! I'm anxious to use that approach with Ian in a few years.
FAVORITE BOOKS OF ALL TIME.......well, digging back in my memory, to my teen years (when all I did was read!), I'd say the Trixie Belden books (have them all~ yes, still!), the Love Comes Softly Series by Janette Oke, and the Anne of Green Gables Series by L. M. Montgomery (I posted our tentative school book line-up for this-coming school year~ you'll notice we're planning to use Where the Brook & River Meet, which is based on the first Anne book!)
Of late, I've been seeing a TON of e-books. But, I'm going to save my favorite e-books for another post!

I loved the Trixie Belden books when I was a kid too - I forgot about them! I think they are all still at my mom's house. I'll be back to check out your recent book reviews.

I recently finished reading the Anne of Green Gables series for the first time and loved it. I was sad to come to the end of Rilla of Ingleside, knowing there were no more books to follow. I'll have to check out the book you mentioned related to the first Anne book. I recently reserved The Anne of Green Gables Storybook from the library to read with my boys.

Heidi,
I love books, too. Next year I am doing Mystery of History with Brandon and am really looking forward to it. I have read many of the Janette Oke books with Victoria. Right now, we are reading some Beverly Lewis books and enjoying those.
I'm glad to hear that you are my SOV.
Blessing,
Ruth

and the Anne of Green Gables series. I may have to look into the other author. If these are your faves, then her books must be good also.
