Today - it's an even smaller Small World After All!
So, by now you know I'm all a bit of a Disney fanatic - and, yes, I even like the It's A Small World ride! LOL The other week, I posted about what a funny thing it was to run into Todd Wilson at the pretzel factory in Lancaster County.
Well, today we had another amazing "small world incident"......
I shared the other day about how I found an armoire entertainment center on Craig's List. Well, Brian and I went to check it out this morning. It was about an hour's drive from home, but it looked exactly like what I've been wanting and the price was right. We were so excited when we got to this quaint little house and met this great Christian couple. They moved to PA from TX about a year ago to plant a church, and he is also a campus pastor at Penn State. Anyway, to make a long story short, when they opened the armoire to show it to us, she placed a book in it and said "this goes with the armoire". I looked, and it was a Max Lucado book - He Chose the Nails. She asked if I knew Max Lucado, and I said that I did, and that I have several of his books, but not that one in particular.
Turns out, these people went to church with Max in TX, he served as youth minister at that church, and when Max bought a new entertainment center, he gave this one to them. SO.....we are now the proud owners of Max Lucado's old (and rejected) entertainment center! And we even got it for $50 less than the asking price! And I've got another book to add to my pile of "must reads". Life is good!
Here's a picture of said entertainment center:

I'll try to get one of it actually IN our living room, to post at another time. Now, I'm going to bed......to READ!

I'm not a fan of Max Lucado, but I do love the armoire! It should make a great addition to your living room (I'm with you on hiding TVs). Craigslist is one my favorite websites. Oh, and I hope you guys have fun picking blueberries! Wish I was there!

Heidi,
What a great story. How wonderful to be able to get just what you wanted for less than you expected. God is so good and He knows all our needs and even our wants. Praise God.

Really cool. You have a famous entertainment center. One time I saw someone James and I went to high school with at Epcot, and we saw our former Tenn church education director, who moved to AL, at an amusement park in Florida! LOL!
Have you read "Beyond the Blue" by Leslie Gould? It is a fiction story about Vietnamise (forgive me if I sp. that wrong!) adoption. Several people in their extended family have adopted from there. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It was from the viewpoints of both the adoptive parents and the birth mother and birth family. The only part that concerned me was whether or not people would think there were always such obstacles as in the book. But, from someone who's never been there, I thought is was great. I'd be interested to know if you've read it, and what you thought.
And, by the way, I never received the book for review. That's fine. Just wanted you to know.
