It's been literally FOREVER since I've posted anything for Weekend Worship. That doesn't mean I haven't been listening to music, though - it just means I've been to busy and/or lazy to blog!
Anyway, several weeks ago, I heard this new song on the radio. At the time, one of my best friends was in the midst of cancer treatments, another had recently found out that her marriage was falling apart. This song really spoke to my heart. Since that day, I've been listening to this song as much as possible - and Ashley has added the album to her Christmas Wish List (Kutless - It Is Well). I hear that it's coming out on the 20th of this month - we may not be able to wait 'til Christmas. (I'm just saying ...)
Follow along with the lyrics:
Everybody falls sometimes
You gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes and make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think it's more than you can take
But you're stronger, stronger than you know
And don't you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining
I've seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn't ever end
Even when the sky is falling
I've seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That's what faith can do
It doesn't matter what youve heard
Impossible is not a word
It's just a reason for someone not to try
Everybody's scared to death
You may decide to take that step
Out on the water
But it'll be all right
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing
Overcome the odds
When you don't have a chance
(That's what faith can do)
When the world says you can't
It will tell you that it can
It's been SO LONG since I've posted anything for Weekend Worship. I feel bad, because music is something that I love, something that is very important to me; and I love sharing my favorite songs, bands, etc.
Last year, when we were gearing up for our upcoming Casting Crowns concert, I shared some songs by John Waller (who was opening for CC) - - - The Blessing and Still Calls Me Son. John definitely has some powerful songs! We liked him even more when we actually SAW him sing in person. And, we were just thrilled when, during concert intermission, we had a chance to meet him in person:
John, Ashley, me, & John's guitarist
I don't know why I was surprised when I just discovered the other day that John is the voice behind the song in Fireproof - While I'm Waiting. Somehow, knowing that he sings it makes this song even more special to me.
Is there anything that you are waiting on? Sometimes it's so hard to continue serving God during the uncertainty, isn't it? This song is such an encouragement to keep our focus on God, no matter what the present crisis may be in our life.
I hope this song is as much of an encouragement to you this weekend as it is to me.
Blessings,
With Easter tomorrow, and our concert less than one week away, this is the last Weekend Worship that will be focused on Casting Crowns "and friends". "Why?" by Nicole Nordeman seems like a very appropriate song to share this weekend. NOTE: Grapic scenes from The Passion included on this video.
I'm getting anxious to see John Waller in concert with Casting Crowns. This guy has some really powerful songs. This week, enjoy "Still Calls Me Son". This song is from John's debut album~ "The Blessing" (I shared that song a few weekends ago). Powerful stuff......
Though this song has a bit of a Christmas feel to it, I think it's an awesome reminder to us~ both as a nation and as individuals. Have we become complacent? Why is it that things that were considered horrible 50 years ago, became things to "overlook" 25 years ago, and now they're actually accepted?! I pray that we aren't "sleeping" when God returns!
This week, please enjoy one of my favorite Casting Crowns songs~ this one was also featured in the movie "Facing the Giants". Ask yourself this weekend "Am I listening to the Voice of Truth?"
I'm anxious for the East to West Tour with Casting Crowns. We'll see them when they come to Hershey on March 28th. During this tour, Casting Crowns is introducing new singer, John Waller. I've heard this song~ "The Blessing"~ on the radio many times and I LOVE IT! I'm anxious to see John in concert~ I'm sure that we'll be hearing many more powerful songs from him in the years to come. Listen closely to this song~ Mark Hall from Casting Crowns sings with John on this song.
You may want to watch this video twice~ once to read the quotes from famous people, and another time to really focus on the words of this song.
This week, I'd like to share one of my all-time favorite Casting Crowns songs. Wow! If this song doesn't put our humanness into perspective, I don't know what does! God is an amazing God, and WE ARE HIS! Praise His name this weekend as you contemplate this song......
Another friend of Casting Crowns is Nicole Nordeman. She sang the following song during the Lifesong Tour and, not only did I enjoy seeing Nicole sing this song in concert, but I loved the words and the message. Are we leaving a legacy? Something to think about this weekend.....
