Jul. 6, 2007 - Questions Without Answers...
It has been a tough week for many families. Through our friend Matthew (a 2 year old with bladder cancer) and his family, we have learned about several families that are also battling cancer. Withing the last 10 days, four of those families have lost their children to that awful disease and another family has been sent home to say goodbye.
I don't know these families personally, but my heart breaks for them. Forever there will be an emptiness where there should be a child to hold.
I know who holds the future and I know these children have received the ultimate healing after months, and in some cases, years of horrific treatments, but the pain for their families must be unbearable. I know I'm rambling today, but I'm having a hard time with questions that have no answers this side of Heaven.
Only God can bring good out of the terrible. In this situation he is teaching me this: Cherish your time with your children. Steal kisses and hugs whenever possible. Read books, play ball, roll race cars and play tea parties.
Please pray for these familes and remember Matthew and his fight.
Gotta run....time to build with blocks!
Blessings,
Rhonda
