There and Back Again

Opportunity

                      Opportunity

They do me wrong who say I come no more

When once I knock and fail to find you in

For every day I stand out-side your door

And bid you wake and rise to fight and win.

Tuesday - Richard Henry Lee

Posted by Rabenstrange
In answer to your question about Richard Henry Lee, here are a few sites that give information about him. I primarily used the Wikipedia article when writing my entry for the contest.

http://www.ushistory.org/declaration/signers/rhlee.htm
http://www.colonialhall.com/leerh/leerh.php
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Henry_Lee

Hopefully this is helpful. If you desire more information you can Google his name. Alternatively, you can email me and I will do an "Ask Rabenstrange" feature. My email address is viewable in the side bar of my blogspot blog (http://rabenstranger.blogspot.com)

Monday - Tag

Posted by Ringbearer

I've been tagged by Koolkitty!

What is your favorite color?
Red

What is your favorite thing to do?
Take walks outside with my CD player and listen to CDs. I also like to e-mail my cousin and write poetry.

Who is your favorite author?
That’s not a fair question! There are so many! Three of my favorites are Tolkien, Patricia St. John, and C.S. Lewis.

Who is your best friend?
My sister, (Legolas) is my best friend.

What is your favorite blog to visit?
That's a secret!

Who is your hero?
That is a hard question. I have thought about it a lot. I know lots of people from both books and real life that I would love to be like. One of my heroes is Amy Carmichael. I like her because she gave up so much to go to India and show God's love to children that had never seen it.

What is your favorite bible verse?
1 Peter 1:8

The Myth

"The value of the myth is that it
takes all the things we know and
restores to them the rich
significance which has been hidden
by the veil of familiarity . . .
By putting bread, gold, horse, apple
or the very roads into a myth,
we do not retreat from reality:
we rediscover it. As long as the
story lingers in our mind,
the real things are more themselves.
[The Lord of the Rings]
applies the treatment not only
to bread or apple but to good and evil,
to our endless perils, our anguish
and our joys. By dipping them in myth
we see them more clearly. I do not
think [Tolkien] could have done it
in any other way.”
- C.S. Lewis
