There and Back Again

Thursday

Happy Birthday to Frodo and Legolas!

I am officially hijacking this blog because as I am the mother of Frodo and Legolas I feel it is my duty to inform the world that both of my lovely daughters had a birthday very recently.  Since they will not tell you, someone has to.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Frodo and Legolas!

XOXO

Now that I have spoken my piece, I will give you back your blog, my dear daughters.

Love,

Mom

Our Quest

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us..." GANDALF

The purpose of this blog is to record the ideas that are most important to us. We are two sisters who choose to go by the names of Frodo and Legolas. You will find poems and quotes, narrations and pictures from our favorite sources that have inspired us to use the time that has been given to us to the best of our ability. We hope you will enjoy the journey there and back again....

tolkien

The Myth

"The value of the myth is that it
takes all the things we know and
restores to them the rich
significance which has been hidden
by the veil of familiarity . . .
By putting bread, gold, horse, apple
or the very roads into a myth,
we do not retreat from reality:
we rediscover it. As long as the
story lingers in our mind,
the real things are more themselves.
[The Lord of the Rings]
applies the treatment not only
to bread or apple but to good and evil,
to our endless perils, our anguish
and our joys. By dipping them in myth
we see them more clearly. I do not
think [Tolkien] could have done it
in any other way.”
- C.S. Lewis
