How to impart Wisdom

One question the Proverbs seemed to answer for me was How do we as parents impart wisdom to our children?

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
- First you must be following the Lord.

Proverbs 2:12
Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,
- Keep in mind the goal of imparting wisdom to our children is to save them from wickedness. So we must be decerning ourselves, and teach them right from wrong.

Proverbs 4:1
Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.
- Get their attention before you instruct them, and teach them How to listen.

Proverbs 4:5
Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them.
- Rules are important and good, and memorization it an asset to both you and your children.

Proverbs 4:11
I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.
- Think of the "I" as you the parent who is doing the leading.

Proverbs 9:10
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
- Again the Lord is where we begin with wisdom.

Proverbs 10:31
The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out.
- This is very convicting, we are to righteous, and that will teach our children through us.

Proverbs 21:11
When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom; when a wise man is instructed, he gets knowledge.
- punishment is Godly, and necessary for imparting wisdom.

Proverbs 23:9
Do not speak to a fool, for he will scorn the wisdom of your words
- Calm your child down before imparting wisdom to them. Whether that is a timeout for your younger, or a cool off period for your teenager.

Proverbs 29:15
The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.
- Discipline is important, and does teach your child wisdom! Keep your child with you or how will you teach him?

Proverbs 29:20
Do you see a man who speaks in haste?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
- Speak slowly, think before you speak and use words your children understand.

Proverbs 31:26
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
- Your children will listen to you so be aware what is ON YOUR TONGUE.. that is a whole different study.. the tongue.. Be aware and beware is the simple saying I will leave you with.

HOMESCHOOLING

I worked in daycare, as a preschool teacher, and at the elementary school as a special needs assistant, and I have a big heart for children.

WRITING
Poems have been published in a few small publications. My Original Schoolhouse Thesis for my BS degree in Sociology was published and is in the Linfield College Library. I have a group of poems I would like to self publish sometime. Other than that I have a novel that has the plot done but lots of discription is not there, but I am bored with it right now.

HEALTH
homebirthing, vaccinations, homeopathy, herbology, etc.

RESEARCH
I love researching things!

OUTDOORS
Camping, hiking, photography, clam digging, rolling down hills with my sons, bike riding, walking etc. The ocean still feels like home to me, when I get on the beach I feel that is where I belong in the world.
