I am from feeding ducks with day-old-bread, but being scared of the geese. I am from picking strawberries and eating unwashed carrots. I am from a winding coo-coo clock, quarters and wooden toys. I am from fixing pigeons, crazy cats, and blackberries. I am from sand in my teeth, salt in my hair, and swimming in hypothermic water. I am from clam digging, shrimping, fishing at the cove, and hunting for chalk rocks. I am from drawing art galleries on the sidewalk squares, taking black and white exploding flash bulb photos of mud pies on the front stairs. I am from camping at Spruce Run, sliding down the mud on my butt, swinging into the hole with a rope swing, and rafting down to the campsite on an innertube. I am from barbie dolls, secret spies, and creating our own code language. I am from blue and red chips, broken wooden spoons, and soap.
I am from handmade valentines with taffy glued to the construction paper, Easter sundays with patent leather, seeing a green glow in the art room one Patrick's Day. I am from chicken pox on my 12th birthday which always fell on spring break so I didn't get time off of school. I am from Thanksgivings with family, and putting olives on my fingers. I am from Christmases with exciting toys and lots of lights, and Willie Wonka stories told by my dad the night we put the lights up. I am from making Christmas cookies, and thinking homemade rice tomato soup and a garage sale doll named Joy were my best presents.
I am from knowing at 5 I wanted to be baptized because Jesus was, and I wanted to go to heaven, and be God's. I am from getting baptized at 7 and being so happy to know the Lord. I am from getting my first prayer answered in Preschool.
I am from learning to read, write and do math before I entered school. I am from a grandmother and mother who loved to teach, and swearing I would never be a teacher, but realizing as an adult I had a great aptittude for it. And deciding before having children that teaching kids is what I really want to do.
I am from learning to sew over Spring breaks spent with my grandparents in the valley. I am from swimming every day over the summer, and pretending to be a mermaid or a dolphin under the water, till I would get called for lunch. I am from 2nd base, setting and point guard. I am from listening to my mother for academics and my father for work and play.
I am from a mother who taught me to love the Lord, be humble, and imparted to me knowledge and love of learning. I am from a father who taught me how to have fun, work hard, be friendly, be truthful and to love and care for family.
I am from taking 9th grade literature in 7th and 9th grade. I am from wanting to be an investigator, architect, and biologist. I am from starting to major in biology and switching to Sociology. I am from fighting against my body to do what I want/need to in life. I am from 2 car accidents, 2 knee accidents, IBS, asthma, allergies, and Chronic Fatigue. I am from two kids and a husband.
I am from tea, baths, sunsets and beautiful paintings. |

Oct. 28, 2007 Horrible week...
Three very difficult things I am dealing with.
#1 a friend from my pregnancy group online had her daughter die. She was born with her esophagus and stomach not connected. Her youngest was just born and brought home some sort of virus or cold, and her daughter got a cough, and the other day just stopped breathing, and they could not revive her. Very very sad.
#2 My knees are really hurting me. I had a patteler shave and lateral release done in 1999 but they are hurting again. It is understandable as 6 months after the surgery I got in a car accident, and then about a year later had Josiah and then Isaac came along back to back pregnancies. So going from 119- 178 is a big weight gain. I am considering surgery again but giving my naturopath's ideas and riding the stationary bike a bit more time.
#3 Dh is trying to stop smoking again and I need to be as non-confrontational as possible. And even beyond possible to help him. |

Aug. 25, 2007 Today's Notes 8/25
Probably going to the corner market for a couple things myself. My left knee is quite sore, but slightly better than yesterday. I did 7 minutes on the bike last night, before bed, so I would stay off it afterwards. I have tons of housecleaning to do and I know I won't get to it all, so it is depressing. I am going to just try to focus on one room, but the rest is also so pressing. I am doing good with my new lifestyle/diet of 100% organic vegan.. and vegan when I go out to eat. Even here most restaurants have at least one offering. We still haven't heard back about the job dh applied for so I am assuming that they either closed before he sent it or that they chose someone else. He is considering still moving though, so it seeking out other employment options in ND. They have a large oil production and more mining going on all the time.
We also just put our airplane up for sale. Here is the listing if anyone wants to see it :).

dh wants to build a different plane, it is called a SuperCub. The originals are produced by Piper, but he will be building a replica. It is a highwing bush plane, with big wheels, like the kind you see in movies about Alaska.

Sep. 19, 2006 My Head is Buzy
Hi peeps ;)
Not sure I like that term, reminds me of little fuzzy chicks though.
Anyway, my mind is very full today. Ever have those days where your head feels so heavy and you can't even focus on the most mundane tasks? Well that was me today. Here are some topics that are crowding out my day to day monotony.
Lloyd is going in for his interview tomorrow. Things are so up in the air I am just waiting for my feet to land to see which direction to go. Included in this huge lifechange are finding a new place to live, new carpeting for our house, fixing up the outside, a fight with DH about weed n feeding the lawn, putting off getting a freezer and more.
Also, rattling around demanding attention, is the fact that in less than a month I will be on a plane to Italy, with layovers in England and Florence, ending up on Sardinia. So, I have to get alot of things in order, and have last minute things to get, like a credit card that doesn't have foreign fees, thing is as a SAHM I have to put my DH as the CC holder. What a pain! Anyway, I hope we get it and one in my name in time to go. Also waiting on some Dr Martens I bought on Ebay as my second pair of shoes for the trip. Other than that I still need an international calling card and a few other things. 10 days without my boys will be lonely, but my good friend Beth will be with me the whole time (she lives on Sardinia). We will also go spend 3 days in Rome before I head to England for a day by myself. This will be my first time off this continent, the only other time I was out of this country was to Quebec when I was Jr in HS. *Hi Hannah*
Working on making more Kefir cheese, tomorrow most likely. I need to put up some applesauce, the apples and pears need picking. YUMMY, but also alot of work when my mind is filled with the previous two huge things.
All these as well as the rains have come, and the boys are going to tear up the house before we sell it. Hopefully we will get a bigger house if we move.
Ok I am off to read.
