• May. 3, 2008 - Missions Conference
I'm having a proud Mom moment! Our church is having a Missions Conference this weekend and last night was the 1st night. All the church kids marched in with flags and sang "Jesus loves the little children", then they placed their flags in the holder behind them. They did so good! Then the Marine color guard marched in, very impressive and patriotic. A young man from our church played the "Star Spangled Banner" on his electric guitar, very cool, while we stood with hands over our hearts in respect to the American flag! We honored America 1st, because this is where Foreign Missions start, right here at home, and then goes out to the world. Our Missionary was from Scotland, United Kingdom. Joshua was the 1st one to march in and he got to carry in the Irish flag! The theme for the conference was His Grace, Our Hope. Statistics were read as a young man played "Amazing Grace" on his sax. Then 4 different people sang "Amazing Grace" in a different language. Very cool! Go to the link below to view pictures.

• May. 1, 2008 - Happy May Day!
I don't have much to blog about lately, I've been busy researching/planning for next school year. Finally I'm done. I have all my curriculum/materials ordered, all except the Prairie Primer. We are going to do a unit study on The Little House series next year. I am looking forward to it and it something that interest Madeline, so it sure to be loads of fun learning!
I haven't posted pictures lately and I know my Mom will be looking, so I thought I'd post some and while I'm at it, I'll introduce our dog. Ah, the dog. We welcomed Baby into our family last summer and we are still not adjusted to being dog owners. Madeline has been sooooo responsible with her and her fear of dogs is subsiding, so it has been somewhat positive. Except for the house training, lol! Baby is a Maltesse, Peckingnese mix called Peckatesse. She really is a good dog and the kids sure love her! Baby turns 1 on May 17th. Introducing...... Baby

with her so this was such a cute tender picture. This is Baby when we 1st got her, she's 7 weeks old.

 Look how tiny!

• Apr. 17, 2008 - Spark People
Has anyone tried this program? SparkPeople.com is supposed to be a free online version of weight watchers. I've looked it up and I think I'm going to give it a try. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks ~ Mindy |
