Fall scarf

Oops - this is a scarf I made for myself, not the gift scarf I'm supposed to be working on.   Excuse:  I bought this yarn for a scarf to go with my fall coat, and if I wait much longer, it'll be too cold for my fall coat!
Pattern:   One Row Scarf from the Yarn Harlot
Needles:  size 8 us  (9  might have been better with this yarn)
Yarn:   Patons SWS in Natural Earth, 1 1/2 skeins
Opinions:  This is a simple, reversible scarf pattern and I really like how the self-striping yarn looks.  This yarn was different than I expected......it's labeled a worsted but I would say it's a v. heavy worsted, and it  has very little twist to it.   I had a couple spots in each skein that didn't seem spun at all- just blobs.    It's also  fuzzier than I expected - I'd seen pics on a few  blogs and it didn't look fuzzy to me, but then again, my picture doesn't really look fuzzy either.  (I'm not into fuzzy)
I think this would make a great yarn for a felted project.

Besides finishing the scarf,  the other big accomplishment for the weekend was getting the timers set up for the chicken lights, and getting the lights cleaned up.   Our  hens haven't been laying well and I can't keep up with the egg orders from our customers.  (of which there are 3)    Hopefully, the lights will help get them in gear.  (For the uninitiated in the way of the chicken,  hens need about 14 hours of light to maximize laying their eggs)

The scarf looks great! The colors are really lovely.

Oooooh.. .eggs! The girl I buy from locally hasn't had many lately either. I get spoiled having the fresh eggs and don't like to have to get store eggs.

Thanks for commenting on my verison of the scarf -- the peace fleece I used is supposed to soften up considerably once it's blocked/washed; we'll see. Best, Kelly (www.green.typepad.com)

The scarf is beautiful! Doesn't look fuzzy! I knit with SWS for the first time for a felting project (stranded it with regular Paton's wool) and it came out so soft I thought I needed a scarf out of it and there you had one! Now I need to copy you! :-)
