Sock it to me!!
I made a little agreement with myself not to do any more blogging until I had some kind of finished project to show. I'm not sure if this qualifies (because I really should have both of them done) but I am so excited about finishing my first sock!!!
The truly amazing thing is that it turned out okay and it fits perfectly!! It has a few pretty minor warts (it's showing off its good side) but nothing anyone will notice when it's actually on my foot, I'm sure. For anyone who would like to try sock knitting but is hesitant, I can suggest the pattern I used: Knitting Pure & Simple Beginner's Mid-Weight Sock. It was very easy to follow and I had no problems with it.
I ordered both my pattern and that cute sock blocker from The Loopy Ewe. I used US size 3 Inox dpn's and Lorna's Laces Sheperd Sport in Watercolor, which I got from Nachaele. I've really enjoyed working with it and the colorway is much prettier than it looks in these photos. So far I don't have second sock syndrome at all, I can't wait to get the next one done so I can wear them!!

The sock is cute. I have not attempted socks yet. I mostly stick with dishcloths, a couple of afgahns, or crocheting.

Oh your sock looks fabulous!! Yay! Aren't they great fun to do? I haven't started my second one yet, but I will. Thanks for playing tag, I also had trouble when it came to 7 things about IL. I'm not that keen on IL. either. You listed one of my most beloved movies of all time: The Sound of Music!
Hey I know it was a few posts ago, I just wanted to say I was sorry to read about your friends doing that to you guys. A betrayal can really blind side you and feel just like a punch in the gut. Remember one thing, it's your blog and you can vent anytime you want to on it. I'll alway listen anytime, that's what your blogging friends are for!

Cute! I don't knit. I crochet. I bought a big book, Knitting School, last fall, fully intending to learn this winter. Sigh. However, I do crochet socks. Socks are fun. I want to learn to knit because I think it looks nicer, especially for socks, than crochet. Good job!

... on finishing your first sock! It's lovely!
(and I am very impressed - I'm a bit intimidated by the very notion of sock knitting!)
