April!
How can it be April already?? In just a couple weeks we will begin planting this year's crop, weather permitting...this means my husband will practically disappear, he'll be so busy. I used to just dread spring when the boys were very small - dread it! It was so tiring to be the only parent 6 days a week. Now that they are older it's a huge difference, I don't get so physically worn out and mentally starved for adult company. Luckily, I also don't have a problem entertaining myself or mind being alone so much.(although naturally it'd be nice to see hubby more)
This weekend we did another animal management chore out in the barn - docking the lambs' tails. They don't enjoy it but it only seems to bother them for a few minutes--not something we enjoy doing but it's really for their best interests. The bottle babies out in the barn are doing well, as is our broken-legged bottle baby in the house. We had a treat this weekend as a dear friend came for a visit - we know him from our college days and he lives in Washington DC so the visits are few and far between and much treasured.
I am dutifully working on my second sock. Thanks for all the sock encouragement in the comments!! Thanks too for the kind words regarding the "friend" situation. I'm feeling much less depressed about the whole thing - I guess you just have to chalk some things up to life experience.
Here's a couple shots from the barnyard:
Are you my mom??
Can I just say how much more enjoyable this whole blogging thing is with my high-speed connection!! The difference is unreal. (sorry to rub it in to the other 5 people still on dial-up)
My husband uses the internet a lot to follow the markets and the weather so it's a huge help to him as well.
Bye for now!!

Thanks for posting a comment on my Easter basket give away post! I came here to check your blog out and a half an hour later I'm still reading. I love all the farm animal pictures and hearing about all the details of your livestock. Actually, I am finding all the various subjects here interesting.
