Mighty Max
If you've never been around a dachshund, let me just tell you that they think they are much bigger and tougher than they actually are, and are generally ready to take on the world! Now that Max has realized there's a barn/pasture full of animals outside, he heads that way whenever he gets the chance. Here he's checking out one of the new kids, "Annie." She was pretty curious about him, too.
But Annie's mom wasn't having it. Other than Eowyn their guard dog, these momma goats do NOT like dogs. Here she's giving Max a good look at her horns as she prepares to teach him a lesson:
But did Mighty Max back down?? Don't even think about it. (Lucky for him there's a fence there or he'd have been head-butted into the next day)
There is one thing that strikes terror into the heart of even the bravest weiner dog:
THE YARN GNOME!!!!
For some unknown reason, Max is scared to death of this ceramic gnome that my aunt made.
The yarn gnome has taken up residence on this basket of sock yarn after a very unfortunate incident involving Max and a skein of Regia.

Well, I sure hate to show my citygirl ignorance here -- but how 'come the mama goat has horns? I thought that was just for the boy goats! ;-) And I sure could use a yarn gnome. Maybe it would keep TheEmptyNestChild out of my yarn! I hope this post means your back is better!

Who would ever think that that gnome would end up being a watch dog for yarn?. Glad you found something to protect your precious yarn ;)
happy knitting :)

Love that your dog doesn't know his own size. I wish I had more of that courage!
:)
Hope you are feeling better,

Oh that is soooo cute, I love how little doggies don't realize that they are little sometimes! They can have such big spirits. But that's just too funny how he's afraid of the yarn Gnome! Aren't you glad though? I'd have to say if my puppy was chewing on my yarn and I found that a statue guarded it so well, I'd be pleased as punch about it, LOL! Hope your back is better, btw.

Good for Max!! Just hope there is always a fence there when he needs it!!! The gnome is a wee bit scarey.... Looks like he has a great job guarding that precious sock yarn from 'unfortunate' incidents....
