Weathertop Farm

I almost missed it!

While I've been inside nursing my back, spring has really sprung around here.  All of a sudden the trees are all leafed out, the grass is growing like crazy and we even have a few flowers.    I love the little jar they are in,  my husband sometimes comes across old little odds and ends like this while he's farming- they are half submerged in the dirt.

I found the lily of the valley and lilacs in bloom off the back deck while I was walking the youngest boy to the edge of the yard  so he could go for a ride:

Farmer-husband is planting the ground around our house this morning, which is always kind of fun to watch.   It's just  nice to have him here, as many times he's miles away.  They started this field yesterday afternoon and he worked all through the night.   I really don't know how he does that - adrenalin, I guess.    It's supposed to rain tonight so he's trying to get what he can done.  If they quit at 7pm tonight, that means he'll have worked 36 hours straight.   If it doesn't rain, they'll probably work  later than that.   I made him promise he'll have someone less sleep-deprived drive him home!   (The guys that work for him work long hours but he doesn't ask them to work all night.)

Yesterday I got the sweetest package in the mail from a blogging friend.   She's got to be one of the most thoughtful people I have ever  known.      She sent me a big box of stuff to help amuse myself with as I'm recuperating.     Even though I love what she sent, just knowing that she went to the trouble to box this up and mail it out is just as amazing to me.

And here's a picture for the goat fans out there - and you know who you are!!

**ETA:  I don't know why that little one is one the wrong side of the fence, but she didn't stay there for long.
**Farmer husband just came in after working 37 plus hours in a row.   He saw this picture and said, "Is that our pasture??"   Uh, go to bed honey.  Now.  Umm, ok, you can shower first.
