The Chicken Contest!
It's the first ever Weathertop Farm contest! Here's the prize : a little bagsket inspired by some I saw on Wee Wonderfuls, which was the first craft blog I ever read. It's a small sized bagsket, and it would be perfect for a small knitting project, an embroidery project, or even just to stash some odds and ends in.
The prize will go out to the winner with a few little surprise goodies packed inside their bagsket as well.
Now, this isn't going to be just one of those "leave a comment" contests - because this is The Chicken Contest. I mentioned once on this blog that once you start keeping chickens, people will start buying you chicken "stuff." It's just inevitable, I'm telling you. I present Exhibit A:
Luckily I like the chicken as a motif, not just as a barnyard critter. Here is your contest challenge: the winner will be whoever can guess how many chickens are in my kitchen. The closest number (without going over) will win - if multiple people are equally close, I'll draw a name. Here's a few little hints:
1. This is not a trick question...the answer isn't zero
2. It's not a crazy high number - I don't have 215 chickens in my kitchen
2. Refrigerator magnets count
4. I don't like lots of magnets, etc on my fridge
5. I'm only counting things I can see - the chicken dessert plates and coffe mugs don't count
So there you go! Leave me a comment with your guess any time from now through this Friday (the 13th) - I'll announce the winner on Saturday. Please make sure to id yourself in some way in your comment.
Here's one last picture just because I think these are funny - my sister bought these for me.....weiner dog salt and pepper shakers! And don't forget to leave me a comment with your best guess and this is important, your name or blog or someway to tell who you are!!

Seems we have a lot in common! This is my first visit to your blog and I really enjoyed it! I came from a link on Hakucho's blog. I'll say it in a whisper so no one else hears and starts buying me chicken stuff, "I LIKE chickens!" I even have a pic on my blog from when I had them as pets on our farm! Your bagsket is so cool!!! My friend has made several and I've coveted every single one. And I love the dachsund s&p shakers. That is a hoot!! My guess for chickens in your kitchen is 18:)

My guess was 24 chickens even before I read any comments. I guess everyone is shooting around the same area, LOL! It just sounds like a good number to me so I'm sticking with it:-) Really cute prize too!

I'm back from vacation and reading blogs again so I'm ready to participate in the chicken counting. I'll take a stab at 37 chickens as residing in your kitchen. I don't collect chickens but do collect mermaids and it would be embarrassing for me if anyone ever counted my collection.

What is it with the chickens? As soon as we started planning to order ours, I started to accumulate patterns for stuff with chickens on it. A house can only hold so many chicken quilts, and I'm sure I'll only make a couple before my enthusiasm fades. But I keep adding to the collection.
My question is how many eggs are in the kitchen?
