Fall Fishing
I'm glad to see all the comments about seatbelt use! Yea! I've had to be the "spoil sport" many times over the years with in-laws and friends (No, I will not take your kids if there are not enough seat belts. No, you many not take my kids if there are not enough seat belts) so it's nice to hear that there are others out there standing firm!
On to a new topic, Sunday afternoon was such a nice day, farmer husband took the boys fishing, which they all love to do, but we just never seem to find much time for it. I'm not really one for fishing, but the scenery sure was nice:

I always have to laugh, because the boys think fishing is so fun, and farmer husband always tells me how "relaxing" it is, but it seems like they spend most of their time snagging lines in the trees or untangling lines, etc, and there's very little actual fish catching. But hey, to each his own! Middle son did catch a nice fish almost immediately so he was happy.
(and really, throwing things into water is always cool to boys - plus you get to buy cool gear and a cool box to keep it in, so I can relate to that angle of it )
Knitting saves the day once again - here's my idea of a nice afternoon of fishing:

I'm starting to think I will never finish my chevron scarf - I knit and knit and knit and the thing never gets any longer. So it is totally hilarious that this pattern is from a book entitled "Last Minute Knitted Gifts?" Ha!
Coming soon - Chicken Update. (the excitement never ends around here, eh??)
ps. If you need a laugh today - go check out Bad Fortune Cookie's pumpkin.....

That photo of your knitting is beautiful. It really shows off the colors of the yarn.

Sounds like a wonderful day! It's nice to get away from life and do something a little different, whether it's untangling fishing line or knitting away! (The scarf looks beautiful by the way!) My Chevron scarf is hibernating for that very reason.. it never seemed to go anywhere no matter how much time I spent on it!

Knitting all fancy and continental and stuff! That's a great knitting shot, too...
I'd like the "quiet" aspect of fishing, I think. And the scenery. But the actual "fishing" part? Meh. Not so much...
And thanks for the linky-love! :)

What gorgeous scenery! And I love that pic of you knitting your scarf! I agree with the others too, that yarn is gorgeous. Hey, you're a continental knitter!! I'm jealous--I learned to knit english and that's what I still remain even though I've tried several times to teach myself continental style LOL :) I've always heard it was faster to knit continental, and easier when you do fair isle knitting--but I can never get the hang of it. P.S.--scarves take FOREVER to knit IMHO ;)!

my chevron scarf...i'm feeling the same way. I've knit hours and hours...which is A LOT coming from ME who always has to SEW and not knit. So i'm like wow i'm making good headway on this!! Then look at the yarn cakes and discover that there is TONS of yarn left and it's only like 1.5 feet long.
oy.
the rest of my life could be spent knitting this thing! Seriously, can i convince one of the goats to knit?
Thanks for the bunny picture.. after that weekend i had it was a great pick me up to go back to.

I had to laugh about the fishing. When my dad took the girls and Benjamin last week, he was chasing broken and tangled lines for 2 hours straight! LOL
Your scarf is so pretty!

You make me laugh. I too cannot match the speed of these pattern creators. Do they take their knitting to the bathroom with them in order to make time???
Love the fish

Ooooo that picture looks beautiful. Yes I'm with you Rohan, I would have to take some hand sewing with me. I have the other two books in that "Last Minute" series but didn't think I would get any use out of the knitting one. Must be an ideal book for you at the moment.
Have a good weekend Fiona

That's quite the catch! As a child I always went fishing with my beloved grandfather. Of course he always put the shiner/ minnow/bait (salt-water fishing) on my hook for me and remove the fish too, but it was fun just to be with him. Today I'm with you...I'd rather knit than fish :)
