Christmas Countdown!
Only a few days till it's here! We are celebrating with my side of the family on Sunday, so that cuts things even closer. I'm just about ready, but I am having to scale back on some of my (unrealistic) sewing plans. I kinda forgot how long it takes me to make 3 sets of kid's pajamas, so that's cutting into the other crafting plans. C'est la vie!
Here are a couple of the projects I have gotten done -- the first is the mini padfolio from Craft Apple. Very cute pattern and very easy to follow. I love these fabrics too, the apples & pear fabric is one of my favorites. The beautiful flower fabric is something I won many months ago from a blog contest at What's THAT gonna be.
This was my first time doing any machine-sewn patchwork or quilting. I was worried about the quilting, but it was a snap, especially with the nifty walking foot that Danielle was so sweet to send to me. I was disappointed that the quilting didn't turn out more "pouffy" (to borrow farmer husband's word) but I guess that's just because the batting I used wasn't very thick?? (and thanks for all the non-puffy hat support, by the way!)

And here's a quick little gift card holder, (or change purse) made from this tutorial:

It's already been gifted to youngest son's piano teacher.
So now I'm down to hemming the pj pants for the boys and making one more batch of Christmas cookies. Oh, and some gift wrapping. Not too bad. We're supposed to be getting some more bad weather this weekend.....here's a pair that won't mind more snow:

Those projects are gorgeous, they look just professional! I love all the fabrics a lot. I'm so glad you're enjoying the walking foot.
That sure is a cute pair playing in the snow, I bet they're looking forward to Santa coming (the one that stands on two legs anyway lol!)

The padfolio and giftcard holder are beautiful. Love the fabrics/combinations. Very nice sewing...so neat and even. I'm terrible at sewing. My results would not be good enough to give as gifts.
Have a very Merry Christmas. Stay warm and safe :)

Your handmade Christmas items look lovely. I love things that are handmade. I guess that's why I love knitting so much. We live so close to the beach that hopes of snow are pretty much dashed every year. Being from Texas, I should be used to a snowless Christmas, but a girl can still dream. Have a wonderful Christmas!

Beautiful job on the padfolio and card holder! The fabrics are lovely together.
I'm still sewing binding on fleece throws, but they're so simple, it's actually kinda fun. Too bad I can't blog about it..grandgals check my blog too often. ;p
Send some of your snow South, please!

Your projects look great! It looks like you have things well under control. I had to abandon a few things too -- mostly holiday decoration things that I wanted to make. Did you have a big snow melt today -- ours is almost all gone -- I want more! I'm making a grocery list tonight, so I'm off to your Thanksgiving post to get that relish recipe -- I'll let you know if we have any fans! ;-) Have a Very Merry Christmas!
