Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!
When my sister-in-law was here recently, she told me I was asking for trouble by having this wreath up.  (See what the little sign says?)   Maybe she is right!!   New Year's Eve day we got another huge snowstorm, followed by more snow and lots of wind on New Year's Day.

Good thing we had a quiet time at home planned for both - New Year's Eve we got our traditional Chinese take-out for dinner .    My mil and her friend came over and we played board games, ate, and laughed a lot.   Luckily mil lives only half a mile away (and her friend had planned to spend the night) because the roads were terrible!   Right now only a vehicle with 4 wheel drive can get up and down our drive.   Now that the wind seems to have spent itself, we'll plow it out.    (otherwise it just blows shut again) Shoveling break??

The blowing snow was something I really had to get used to when I moved to the country - even a relatively small amount of snow can be a problem when the wind is blowing hard.
Now it's time for a little blogging break, as I catch up on a few things and we go out of town for a few days.    I'll look forward to catching up with everyone when I am back!!
Stay warm!

Wow! Look at all that snow! We only got a few inches, but I guess a little is better than nothing! Boy, it looks like you had a CROWD for the holidays -- I sure hope you can get some rest! Happy, Happy New Year to you -- I'm looking forward to all your fun farm inspiration and GOAT updates LOL!!!

Hello from Kansas...love your wreath with the little "let it snow" sign. If you put up a wreath this spring be very careful what you say, lol. There are three things I miss from living on a farm: 1) farm animals, 2) fresh eggs and 3) fresh milk! Have a blessed day.

Burrrr!!! Looks like your wreath did the trick. I know what you mean about snow when you live out in the country. I grew up in the middle of nowhere, and it only takes a small amount of snow to really mess with your plans! Happy New Year!

Yes, That wind can cause trouble with even a small amount of snow. And when you get alot, well, that's alot of trouble!! Glad you're going somewhere warm. Isn't it nice to have it to look forward to during these cold days?? (And to look back on when you get home!!)

I know what you mean about the blowing snow, it does pretty much halt things until the plows can get going around here.

We are like you and spend quiet New Years at home with our kiddos playing games eating and watching movies. The weather really dictated it this year anyhow, but we always choose to stay home where it seems safer anyhow. Sounds like you had a nice time.

Just Getting Caught Up On Everything...

But what a lovely holiday it sounds (and looks!) like you had!

And your snow? Goodness, but it's pretty. But I'm glad it's you and not me. Too many years in Georgia have completely thinned my blood. I start fussing unmercifully if it dare to dip below 40°!
