Happy Valentine's Day! (and the winner is.....)

Just taking a little break from lambing updates to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!!
Also, to share a couple little items I've received in the mail lately that really made my day.
The first is the adorable Valentine above, made by Thimbleanna. I makes me smile every time I see it! Another item that really makes me smile is this lovely necklace, which came from JunieMoon.
Isn't it sweet? June sent these out to everyone that participated in her Bandage Brigade, which was so thoughtful of her! If you've never visited these ladies' blogs, you are missing out - they are full of beautiful projects and a source of much inspiration.
Before I forget , I wanted to mention that the winner of the skirt pattern is Woolwinder!
Thanks everybody that entered, and don't despair, I have at least one more Amy pattern to give away.
Our Valentine's Day evening is going to consist of lamb feedings and Chinese take-out.....but the big news is, there shouldn't be any more lambs for a few days, and the triplets can now be stretched a little longer at night, which means 6 hours of sleep in a row for the first time since last Friday night. WOO-HOO! Since my last update we've had a set of twins and then last night a big single male was born. The twins were a ton of work so when that big healthy male was up on his feet and nursing in just a few minutes, we practically cried with relief!
A good question was asked in the comments last time -- whether or not the mother sheep will sometimes favor one lamb over another when there's a multiple birth. In our experience, the answer is generally, no. There are times however, when a mother will completely reject her lamb, but this usually happens when they can't "bond" for some reason after birth. Sometimes this can be fixed, but if not you've got a bottle baby on your hands. One problem that is more common in the case of triplets, is that one is so small and weak, it just doesn't get it's share of mom's milk. That one would probably need bottle feeding (or at least supplements) as well. Our triplets were all so weak, they couldn't have nursed off mom right away even if she'd been able to provide.
Well, that's it for now, except for one final piece of advice: please don't drink the colostrum!

What a surprise to find out I won!
Love the Valentine card. A good reason to learn to crochet.
Oh, the things you find in the fridge on the farm!

I love your crochet edged valentine. The edging really makes it special. Reminds me of the red edging my mom crocheted on a shirt for me eons ago.
Thinking of you with all your lamb tending duties.Sure hope you can get some much needed rest :)

I'm so happy you like your necklace. It really meant a lot to me that you participated in the bandage for leprosy patients project. And Anna's crochet-edged Valentine is just gorgeous. I love the sharing nature of bloggers, so much to learn and discover!
