Treacherous
My older boys had their first "snow day" today - they've never really enjoyed that before, but the class they are taking at the high school was canceled as the entire school is without power thanks to this stuff:

It's beautiful to look at, but this ice storm is causing lots of problems around here. I don't think I've ever seen a layer this thick on everything, some of our poor trees look like they may not recover, and there are branches down everywhere.
Thankfully, our power hasn't gone out but many people have lost power. We've got the generator ready to go, just in case. Meanwhile, I think Max has the right idea:

Praying you stay dry and warm! We had an ice storm like that once years ago and they can do so much damage!

Ice storms are the worst! As you say, treacherous!! We were in one in '91 in New York that left us without power for a week! Not fun with 3 little ones! Take a cue from Max and curl up and stay warm!!

The pictures really are beautiful but I know it's dangerous. We are about to head for Alaska for Christmas vacation. My son said it's snow everywhere. I haven't had a white Christmas in about 15 years. So I am looking forward to snow and then leaving it.
I love that Max is up on his winter fashions! My group would be jealous for sure. Have a Merry Christmas!

Your pictures are beautiful, but I do know that such storms are dangerous. I will keep good thoughts about your power staying on and that it's returned soon to those who've lost power.
Max has the perfect idea, so stay warm, cozy, and safe at home.

How Beautiful...

...but how scary. Being from Arkansas, I'm quite familiar with ice storms and power outages. Enjoy the scenery of your crystal Christmas this year.

All those branches under those trees look like my dad's yard! We felt so lucky to get the warm up yesterday that allowed us to clean up branches in all of our yards!
I hope you and all the Farm Family had a wonderful Christmas!

I love the fingerless mitts and the stockings! What a fun gift! The coffee cozies and a gift card was such a cute idea! :)
Happy New Year!
