This post is dedicated to : My Cousin ,Brielle, I couldn't have done this it without you. ;P
*Please note Sarcasm! Why can't we just sew all year round, without stopping for school...infact the way i see it we don't need school! Sewing will suffice! We (Brielle and I) evaluated our sewing habits and concluded that we seem to incorporate, Math, Geometry, History, Public speaking, Geography, Literature, Home ect. (obviously), P.E., and all into a few hours of diligent sewing. Let me explain... Math: We are constantly doing "very" difficult equations such as , "How many pattern pieces do we need for skirt D?", or "How many inches should we add to this blouse to make it decent?". As you can see it is very complicated and we need to call on our highest inellectual sources to conquer these daily conundrums. Geometry: Uhm...evaulating the pattern pieces and size measurements is enough geometry...=) History: We tend to use historical or atleast vintage patterns in our sewing. In fact I'm going to make a pair of pants off of an actual pattern from 1919...pretty cool. Like I said, we (mainly Brielle) generally like making historical costumes, at this moment we are both working on civil war era ball gowns.... If that isn't enough history for you what is? (Not that any true homeschooler could ever get to much history... Jason and the Argonauts , Huh Aunt Dee Dee?) But seriously, to make a good historical costume you have to study up on that era...Also our favorite movies to watch while we sew are historical fiction. Public Speaking: Well.....let's evauluate the true meaning of "Public Speaking". Public, done openly: made, done, or happening openly, for all to see ,a public debate Speaking, 1. involving speech: involving speech or speaking Encarta ® World English Dictionary © & (P) 1998-2004 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
Thus, "public speaking" would mean speech done openly, or Speech happening openly. Now that we have cleared that up we can establish the fact that we are ,infact, conducting , some very serious amounts of ,shall we say, speech done openly ;) whilst we sew. (I would say that counts as socialazation also) Geography: uhm...some of the movies we watch are in different countries. ....that was a stretch. =) Litrature: We often discuss our favorite books, and the ones we have read most recently during our sewing. P.E.: Keeping your foot on the petal for such long periods of time can be an excruciating workout.... Now, I'm not being serious...mostly. =) So don't take any of this seriously...except I do prefer sewing to most other ...subjects shall we say. Rose

I apologize for not having posted in quite sometime. I have several posts in process at the moment, but my computer has been being......disfunctional. So that everytime I tried to do something complicated (for my computer, posting is complicated) the internet server would jam....most aggravating. I have decided not to post my award post, because most of the people I was going to give it to already had it and so I didn't see any point in it. This is the first time in a long time that I have posted about my day...usually because I don't do anything really worth talking about ,but this morning was, well ...to say the least absurd. Well, here goes... Last night my friend, Niki, and I slept out on our trampoline, so when my Mom left to go on a walk this morning we saw her and decided to go along. The day before Niki, our brothers, and I had walked to a feed store near her house, and was foolish enough not to wear any socks which lead to me having a small blister on my right heal. Well, this morning we went on a walk with my Mom on a trail near our house. This is a long trail with a lot of hills, rocks in the path ,logs over it, and it eventually ends at a river. Well, I remembered to wear socks, but bytime we returned to my house, about an hour later, my blister had grown from just a little bigger than a pin head to the same size as a quarter. After breakfast, my Mom decided to go pick blackberries at a lake nearby us. On hour or two later we had a crate full of large, luscious blackberries, just enough to make a nice, juicy crisp. The said lake is surrounded by a large dike, followed by a thick woods on one side, after the woods is a small creek, and then a trail along the stream which has blackberries growing in abundance on its border. Well, we (Niki, my brother, her brother, and I) decided to go exploring in the woods, my Mom said that was ok as long as we were back in twenty minutes. We took off up the trail and across the creek. Well, about ten minutes later we found ourselves surrounded by skunkcabbage and trees, we managed to get out of that only a couple minutes late, but we emerged from the woods on the wrong side ,not to mention the widest part, of the creek. There was nothing for it, so we rolled up or pant legs, pulled off our shoes, tossed them to the opposite side and started wading acrossed. It appeared to be only ankle deep ,but I (the leader of our pathetic parade) was suddenly up to my thighs in mud. I leaped back, afraid of sinking any deeper, and Brady, Niki's brother, went ahead, also sinking. He managed to climb to the other side, and I followed. When I finally came to the opposite bank and looked up and down the path, it was only then that we noticed their were five cows standing just up the path from us and watching us intently. That was one of those moments you had to laugh to keep from crying.... We had just fought our wait out of a swampy, mosquitoe infested, skunkcabbagy, forest, then knee deep in gooey ,stream mud, only to find ourselves being spyed on by (no doubt) runaway jersey cows, not to mention we were fifteen minutes late for meeting my mom and soaking wet. To say the least it was a very interesting morning. Thankfully, my mother wasn't in the least upset, we found the owner of the escaped cows and told him that they were indeed on the loose, and went home and took showers. It was....quite a laughable expereince. I'm sorry if I haven't replied to your comments. I will try to catch up on them in the next couple days. You all are so good about commenting it fills me with guilt! Love to hear from you, Rose |
