I was gone for months and I made 3 new HSB friends.... Cool!

I wrote this entry but lost it before it got saved.  Bummer!  So.... "Second verse, same as the first"

I am finally off of pain meds and I can lift more than a coffee cup.  I finally got a nurse that knew how to fix the problems with my newly installed belly button.  I spent 30 in pain that was completely avoidable.  I complained about the pain and that it wasn't healing from a few days after the stiches were removed... 30 days later, the nurse said, "You aren't healing very well, are you?"

She said that she would call in a specialist nurse and a week later... I finally got to see someone who knew how to fix the problem.  Two days after following the correct instructions and using the right products, NO PAIN!

I can actually function now.  I even walked from my house to the street without exhaustion.  Maybe I will even be able to drive soon.  It has been two months since I have been able to leave my house without adult supervision.

Does anyone know what I can do about my scar?  It is red and raised and it hurts!  I don't know if it is keloid or hypertrophic.  I just know it hurts.  I have been using Mederma, but it doesn't seem to help much yet.  I have also used Bag-Balm which is making the skin more plyable and less painful.  Has anyone used the silicone products?

Any advice?

I don't know what to do for scarring. If you figure it out please post it. Hannah had 15 stitches down her leg when she was two... I worry that she will hate that scar when she gets older.

tried Scar Solution

I am on day two of using Scar Solution by Neosporin. After only a few hours of having the silicone strips on my scar, the pain and itching diminished. I am also able to massage the area which, I have been told, is good for it. I will keep you posted if it actually works for me.

The epinions for this product were bad. Everyone said that they don't stick well. I haven't had any problems yet.

So glad you are doing better! I use homeopathics for scar healing. If interested email me & I'll find the name of it for you.

I hate that you've been in so much pain for so long. But I'm glad things are starting to get better for you!

I wish I had some advice about the scar. Maybe fresh aloe vera leaf, split lengthwise, on a daily basis? (laid on top, not eaten) :-)

Praying for continued healing...

Silicone
Silicone
my daughter fell and received a severe pavement burn. It was about six inched diameter. It raised up and scarred horribly with veins of ropey tissue. It itched and burned. She got a sheet of silicone from the doctor and covered it for at least 12 hours a day. The scar is now 4 inches diameter, flush with her leg and doesn't hurt or itch. If you can't get the silicone sheet, go to the hardware store, get a tube of aquarium silicone caulking, make a sheet out of that and use it. As long as there is no open wound, you can use the silicone indefinitely.

My prayers are with you
My prayers are with you
I was here to tell you congrats on your Rockin Girl Blogger award by Denise when I read what you have been going through. Goodness!

I am guessing that you are stating you have a temporary situation until you are healed up inside? If so, I can tell you my mother is a wonderful, sweet, Christian woman that had colo****** cancer about 7 years ago and had to have a lot removed and a new way of life with a permanent change.

I know she would be wonderful support for you or answer any questions for you if you need her. Please email me via the contact page on www.familyblueprint.org if you would like her to contact you. She went through a lot of struggles. Of course when she woke up from her surgery, she was hoping what she found was going to be temporary and was disheartened when she realized it was a lifetime change.

Anyhow, many blessings to you. May the Lord bring you healing and good health to enjoy your family and serve His glory once again!
