"Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored." Titus 2:3-5 (NASB)

Okay Valerie, I just have to ask: did your recent centipede come my way? Or maybe a relative of your centipede? You see, we had a visitor come to our home. Except our visitor wasn't on the wall or crawling behind the couch. Imagine my surprise when I pulled out some already cleaned laundry from the washer and lo and behold - as I straightened out a towel a centipede appeared!!!! I did the little "oooo....." dance and tossed it out the door. The centipede had already met its demise no doubt by drowning in the washer water. But it was "oooo......" none the less. Needless to say, that load of laundry got re-washed. I think I can safely say that this particular centipede will not be visiting any of your houses!!! Aren't you glad?
While sitting around the table for dinner the other night, we were having general conversation like we normally do when we share our meals together at the table. Everyone had finished eating except for our daughter. While my daughter was finishing up, my husband took the opportunity to review Bible basics with her. So my husband begins asking her what the divisions of the Old Testament books were. My daughter starts blurting out: "Law, History, Poetry, Geometry!" We busted out laughing!! So I guess the Bible does have proofs in it...
Okay...so we realized that too much time had lapsed between review sessions. Add that to the list of necessary reviews!
Then, in telling my daughter that I had to share what she said with her Mamaw (my Mom), she says, "No...it shares the word of my silliness!" WHERE DOES SHE COME UP WITH THIS STUFF??????? We're convinced she has her own language!
The ultimate goal of Christian home education is to train children to impact the world for God. We want our children to not only hear and learn God's Word, but also be doers of God's Word. Therefore, we strive to teach them:
SERVICE - How to serve God and others
ACHIEVEMENT - To do the best they can in all they do from academic subjects to chores to serving others and more
LOVE - To love God and one another
TRUTH - To live their lives based on the absolute Truth of God
The name of this blog is the acronym for these four areas that we strive to teach our children:
S.A.L.T. - Service, Achievement, Love, Truth
