~ My Current Memory Verses ~

"Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored."

Personal "To Do" List

I still need to put together a to-do section in my home management binder to make sure I get done each day what needs to get done (phone calls, tasks, errands, etc.).  I bought some manilla folders and need to get all of our bills and such organized.

School "To-Do" List

Organize school work
Put school binders together

Cleaning List

I have quite a list for this week.  The following are things I'd like to get done by Wednesday night (Thursday morning at the latest).  It's a goal but I realize it may be too much to get done in a couple of days.

Finish dusting the living room (books, bookshelf, etc.)
Mop the kitchen floor
Clean bathroom, mop floor, and wash floor rugs
Straighten up our bedroom
Make sure laundry is done
The girls' room needs cleaned
Run sweeper

Blogging "To-Do" List

This week, I want to at least get the following posts done:

(1) At the Well post on my ministry blog

(2)  Do Thankful Thursdays post.

(3)  Posting recipes for the week on my cooking blog.

Personal "To Do" List

This week is about getting a little more organized on a day by day basis.  I need to put together a to-do section in my home management binder to make sure I get done each day what needs to get done (phone calls, tasks, errands, etc.)

Cleaning List

We need to do some dusting in the living room.  We're working on the big dusting - books on bookshelves, pictures on walls, etc.  We've gotten two bookshelves and the entertainment center done so far.  Of course, I've got some laundry to get caught up on the next couple of days.

Personal "To Do" List

Still working on getting a routine down.  It's beginning to sound like a broken record, isn't it?  Honestly, it's just taking me awhile to adjust with all the big changes we've had in recent months.

Cleaning List

Okay - the refrigerator REALLY needs a good cleaning.  That's the project I have for this week.  Yes - just one project because it will probably take me all week to get around to doing it!  LOL

I also am trying to keep on top of the laundry.  I like to be able to do a load at night.  I try to wait until after 8:30p.m. because I've read that a lot of times there is a cheaper rate in electricity at night.  It's in little ways like that we can save a little money.

Blogging "To-Do" List

This week, I want to at least get the following posts done:

(1)  My At The Well  post on my ministry blog.

(2) Do Thankful Thursdays post.

(3)  Posting recipes for the week on my cooking blog.

THIS WEEK'S MENU
I haven't drafted a menu this week.  We're having stuffed green peppers tonight.  Tomorrow, I'm going to come up with something using the leftover filling from my stuffed green peppers.  Then for Wednesday, I am planning on making a big pot of chili - enough to last for Thursday as well.

I am going to be making low-fat chocolate chip oatmeal cookies this week for our sweet teeth.

I am going to pick another book to read in addition to my daily Bible reading.

Personal "To Do" List

Our bedroom is finally organized and straight!   Yay!!!  I need to get final grades done for this last school term for my older son.  He has already begun his new school work for this year.  So I need to compile his grades from last year's work.

Cleaning List

We've gotten some cleaning already finished for this week.  We have my hubby's family coming to visit on Tuesday.  What we need to finish is sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor, dusting, and giving the bathroom a quick clean-over

Blogging "To-Do" List

I'm still not blogging a lot.  However, I have begun a new cooking blog.  You can check it out by clicking on the following link:

Lies Women Believe
By Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Personal "To Do" List

I'm still working on the whole cleaning routine.  I want to work more on that this week.  My daughter will be starting back in her school work after having last week off because of Vacation Bible School.  She did a little school work last week at the very beginning of the week but then I felt she just needed to take the rest of the week off.  It worked better that way.  It was quite a busy week and I am looking forward to things not being so busy this week!

Cleaning List

I'm still keeping things flexible.  However, this week I would like to try to work some on the whole cleaning routine.  I'd like to choose certain times for routine dusting, especially for the books and bookshelves.  We need to have certain times when we dust each of the books on the bookshelves.

Blogging "To-Do" List

I would really like to get back to more blogging.  I just haven't had much time to do a lot on the computer since we've moved.  I haven't even kept up with emailing very well!  This week, I want to at least get the following posts done:

(1)  Do Thankful Thursdays post.

(2)  Do Lies Women Believe study post on my ministry blog.

Well.....I don't have the whole week planned out yet.  Here are the meals we are planning to have so far:

(1) Potato Soup

(2) Baked Potatoes with fixin's

(3) BBQ Chicken Sandwiches (shredded chicken)

(4) Some kind of meal using the BBQ Chicken leftovers

(5) Dinner at my parent's house

We'll have some homemade bread this week.

We have the following for snacks and/or to go along with any meal:

cheese, raisins, crackers, carrots, applesauce

Personal "To Do" List

Well, I didn't get around to showing my daughter how to make homemade bread.    I'm adding that to my list this week.  I will probably show her how to make some blueberry muffins this week.  Actually, I'll let her make them but I will walk through each step with her.  She is also doing much better with keeping her room up.  We will continue to make that a focus this week.

Cleaning List

What I wrote last weekI am still working on my home management binder.  I am making this my own binder and not following any one certain format.  I'm gleaning from different sources for ideas.  Right now I have my morning and night-time routine in the front.  Then I have three sections right now:  one for my time alone with God, one for meal planning, and one for cleaning.

Okay, I am still working on this.  I am beginning to realize that a morning and night routine is not very practical right now between having to go to my parent's house to do laundry in the evenings, trying to get dinner before doing that laundry, and working with my hubby's work schedule.  So this week, I'm moving away from any time frames and going with generalities.  There are certain things I'd like to get done before going to bed.  So I'll work on getting those things done at whatever time I have at night - whether it's 7:00 in the evening or 10:00pm at night.  I have certain priorities for each day.  I'm working on making sure I accomplish those priorities.  It's coming along.  But I think for this season of my life, flexibility is key.

School "To-Do" List

I started back with my personal Bible memorizations this past week.  Now I need to get back to our family Bible memorizations.  My daughter is doing well with her school work.  Things are running pretty smoothly so far.

Blogging "To-Do" List

(1)  Do Thankful Thursdays post.

I am still working on meals that are frugal, frugal, frugal!!!  Here are the meals we are planning to have:

(1) Ravioli and Garlic Bread

(2) Broccoli Wild Rice Soup

(3) Creamy Garlic Chicken over Pasta

(4) Chicken Fajitas

(5) Homemade Chicken-n-Noodles

(6) Dinner at my parent's house

We'll have some homemade bread this week.

Our breakfast choices this week will be:

(1) Oatmeal with raisins

(2) Muffins

(3) Cereal

(4) Scones

Our lunch choices this week will be:

(1) Rice, Raw Carrots or Applesauce

(2) Leftovers

(3) Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches

We have the following for snacks and/or to go along with any meal:

cheese, raisins, crackers, carrots, applesauce

I will most likely be serving raw carrots with each meal for a fresh veggie.

Personal "To Do" List

I started my daughter on one of her chores this past week.  This week I will most likely be adding bread baking to the list.  She loves to help cook so I am going to teach her how to make homemade bread and allow her to start making it more regularly for us.  Amongst her chores is keeping her room straight.  We are working on that one as she tends to like to just lay things down wherever and not put them back.

Personal "To Do" List

Well, I am still working on the routine thing.  I officially have a night time and morning time routine written out.  Right now, I am focusing on getting the night time routine down.  The morning routine kind of revolves around when Sugarplum wakes up.  So I didn't put any time frames with the morning routine.  It's in a general format.  This week, I want to focus on getting the night time routine flowing smoothly.  I also want and need to get going again on my personal Bible memorizations.  I work on memorizing passages of Scripture whenever Sugarplum eats.  That will change a little because Sugarplum is now eating baby cereal.  I still need to do the following:

(1) Work on chores for my older daughter

(2) Work on a cleaning routine

(3) Try to schedule a certain time of day for blogging

Cleaning List

I am still working on my home management binder.  I visited FlyLady's site and am going to be incorporating some things from there.  I am currently beginning to put together what Fly Lady calls a control journal

School "To-Do" List

(1)  Pick back up with weekly Bible memorization (Still need to do this)

(2) Get a general time frame for my daughter to do her school work.  She has already begun her work.

Blogging "To-Do" List

(1)  Do Thankful Thursdays post.

(2)  Do Lies Women Believe study post on my ministry blog.

~ A Little About Us ~

The ultimate goal of Christian home education is to train children to impact the world for God. We want our children to not only hear and learn God's Word, but also be doers of God's Word. Therefore, we strive to teach them:
  1. SERVICE - How to serve God and others
  2. ACHIEVEMENT - To do the best they can in all they do from academic subjects to chores to serving others and more
  3. LOVE - To love God and one another
  4. TRUTH - To live their lives based on the absolute Truth of God
The name of this blog is the acronym for these four areas that we strive to teach our children: S.A.L.T. - Service, Achievement, Love, Truth
