:~: June 28, 2008 - Miracles
Ok. Miracles DO happen. We had our own today. :)
This morning Mom was picking me up from a sleep-over b-day party I went to yesterday (why do they call it a SLEEP-over? nobody SLEEPS. :P) anyhoo, she picked me up and after we had left and gone down the road a ways our car over heats! I mean steam was pouring out from under the hood.
So momma had to pull the car over, and the first part of the miracle was we had over heated right by an Advance Auto Parts. We WERE on our way to Knoxville and if we had gone along much further we'd have been on the highway with no where to stop! SO, not a coincidence.
At Advance mom got some Anti-Freeze for the car thinking that was the problem. And it partly was.
But after waiting in the Advance parking lot for a while ,waiting for the car to cool down enough that if we drove it wouldn't blow up on us, it STILL wasn't cooling down.
We drove down to Knife Works (the closet air condition building. :P) so we could go inside somewhere cool to wait for the CAR to cool.
We parked the car in the shade and left the hood open. We spent about 45 minutes in Knife Works just wandering (they did have some awesome LOTR and POTC swords!) and when we came out the car still wasn't cooled down! We figured that out after driving just a tad down the road. :P
So, we stopped at the next available place: a Pilot Station. That was the only place close enough where we could get something to eat, as we were all hungry.
While in there getting our "oh so healthy" (meaning hotdogs and icee's. hehe. lol) we met our friend Mrs.C. And that would be the last place I'd expect to see her. And she was buying food there too! Which totally unbelievable for her. :)
As it was, she had was on her way to the house we had come from to pick up her daughter from the party, and had only stopped at Pilot cause she really needed to get SOMETHING to eat.
Anyhoo, mom tells her we're there because our car overheated, she asks if they (her husband was with her) can do anything for us. Mom tells her no, we just need to wait for the car to cool down.
Well, they didn't listen to us cause when we came out Mr.C was under the hood of our car figuring out our problem. :)
That's the second part of the miracle. If they HAD listened to us, we probably would've blown the car up, cause turns out it was the radiator. It was BONE DRY. So Mr.C helped us fill it with water and anti-freeze and away we go home, with the car working fine now. :)
We decided NOT to go to Knoxville though, just in case. :)
Now, how could any of this be just a coincidence?
We would NEVER expect to see Mrs.C at Pilot getting food, we could even have gotten there after they had already left or something.
And we COULD've kept driving out onto the highway before the car burned out, or it could've happened in the middle of the road ( and almost did).
But no, God planned it so we ended up right in front of a store to get stuff we needed, and at a place just in time to get help from our friends! (thanks sooo much Mr. and Mrs.C!!)
God is so good!
Miracles still happen. Just in some unexpected ways. :)
