Personal Nesting

I had a revelation yesterday. I am nesting. It is an odd feeling.
I am 45 and peri-menopausal. As I go through this I am slowly and surely becoming more home focused. I have trouble concentrating on anything outside of home. I feel this overwhelming need to create a personal nest at home and all of this homesteading is part of that.
I believe my husband is going through it too. He is becoming much more home focused and his desires are mirroring mine.
I don't know if all people in their 40's go through this personal nesting time. I do know that it feels right and good.

I'm not sure everyone feels that in their forties, but I don't see anything wrong with it. After all home is the center. It's the place that you are most effective.

cheryl, I too just want to stay home! on our wisconsin farm and hang with my goat herd, the gaggle of geese and the turkey toms and hens, our noisey guinea hens and our wonderful bunch of hard working hens, with our decorative roosters! it is heaven!

i know how u feel, been going through the same thing and hubby too. we are in out late forties at first we thought it was the empty nest thing , but now we dont think so.we have lived in the city all our lives and 2yrs.ago we moved to the county though it was the adjustment.but now i find myself not wanting to leave my house i just want to be at home taking of my family cooking ,tending my veg.garden,quilting, and love being frugal.we are very active in our church my husband is the childrens pastor and we love being with the children, but when i get home i dont anything to do with outside world anymore.i tried to mention it to a friend once she thought i was just looking down on the city now because i dont live there anymore,i would never do that my church is still in the city and iam still there every week thanks for shering.God bless all your efforts.
