"Fall Favorites"

 

1. Favorite Smell? I love the smell of cinnamon. I love it when i am baking and i can smell apple cinnamon pie or pumpkin pie cooking :) I also like the smell of Ginger.

 

2. Favorite Food? Oh boy...pretty anything i can cook and i am in the mood for. :)

 

3. Favorite Color? Orenge, red, yellow.

 

4. Favorite Drink? Gypsey tea

 

5. Favorite Treat? Hummmm...i am not sure

 

6. Favorite Place to go? My friends houses...you know who you are..;)

 

7. Favorite Candy? (i know you are all going to kill me for this but..) I dont like candy 

 

8. Favorite Movie to watch? Any of the Jane Austin movies....I love them

 

9. Favorite Clothing to wear? jeans, Tee shirt and my cowboy boots.

 

10. Favorite Outdoor Activity? Archery...I am in aa 4-H archery club...I resently won first place in a High-point shoot.

12. Favorite Fall Holiday? Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!

14. Favorite Food at Thanksgiving Dinner? Well i dont have a sweet tooth but I love to make pies and whatever else there is for me to make! :)

17. Favorite Fall Memory? Ok...at camp i would go out to the road and wait for my friend to get off the school bus the we would walk home through the woods and pick up pretty leaves....she had moved to ME but i still think of her when the leaves start to fall

Yes, It has been a long time since I have put a real entry on. Life has been busy as usual, this year I am a Jr, and with that comes a lot more work. For a long time I have been praying about what to do after High School......i knew that I wanted to go into medicine but, that still left me with selecting a job. I looked into becomeing a EMT, but for a EMT, the hours are very long and the pay is not good. then I concidered being a pediatric doctor and that seemed to be the choice for me, i love kids and that type of work had allways appealed to me. but after several more months of prayer i felt the Lord leading me down another path. I had been speaking to a few adults who worked in hospitals, nursing homesand doctor's offices. they all suggested the same thing. Go into Nursing. Huummm I thought why didn't I think of that before???? So I prayed about it. As time went on I began to see and read things that made me think that maybe this is what God has in mind for me........Is there a better way to minister than to those who are sick?!?!?! 

 I wonder if any of you know or have any ideas on what you want to do after High School???? Please let me know :)

 

Ok so this is for hannah to read because she told me she needed something to read.......If any of my friends were wondering, the reason why I am not on here alot is because I have a facebook now........

 I am someone who thinks of Christmas as a time to give. I especially enjoy  giving baked goods as a gift. Not only do Ienjoy making them but people love to recieve and eat them !!!!!! I am posting 2 of my most requested cookies.

                                  Carmel  Heavenlies    

                   ( easy and allways asked for by my brothers !!!!!! )

   ~ 12 graham crackers ( 4 3/4 in x 2 1/2 in )  

   ~ 2 C. miniature marshmallows 

   ~ 3/4 C. butter

   ~ 3/4 C. packed brown suger

   ~ 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

   ~ 1 tsp. vanilla extract

   ~ 1 C.  sliced almonds

   ~ 1 C.  flaked coconut

              Line a 15-in. x 10-in x 1-in. bakng pan with foil. Place graham crackers in pan; Cover with marshmallows. In a sauce- pan over med. heat, cook and stir butter, brown sugar and cinnamon until the butter is melted and sugar is disolved . Remove from heat ; stir in vanilla. Soon over the marshmallows. Sprinkle with almonds and coconut. Bake at 350* for 14-16 minutes or until browned. Cool completely. Cut into 2-in squares, then cut each in half to form triangles.

  Makes: About 6 dozen

                             Mrs. Field's Cookies

                          (  My personal favorite )

~ 2 c.butter

~ 2 c. sugar

~ 2 c. brown sugar

~ 4 eggs

~ 2 tsp vanilla

~ 4 c. flower

~ 5 c. oatmeal

~ 2 tsp baking powder

~ 2 tsp backing soda

~ 1 tsp salt

~ 24 oz. semi-sweet choc. chips

~ 3 c. chopped nuts  ( I use walnuts )

           Cream butter and sugers. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients. Combine with sugar mixture. Add chips and nuts.

    Make into rounded shapes like ping-pong ball size. Bake at 375* for 6-8 minutes. This batter is extremely thick so do not worry :)

   Makes:  9 dozen

  Yes!!!!!!!!! after a long time of not being able to put an entry on, now (as you see) I can. I would like to thank Countrybeachbum for his help to get me back on my feet. I would love to spend time writing a long entry but, unfortunately that ( time ) is something I lack. We are going to work at the house today and we will hopefully be moving in, in the next few days : ) So I will probably not be able to put an entry on for a few days. Don't worry...while I was unable to put an entry on myself, I did go on all of your blogs !!!! So I am back, from outer space...(JK about the outer space thing).....Now I have to go get ready to drive to the house. I will try to write soon !!!!!!!

     Hi, we started school this last week.  In one sense I am glad because it keeps me busy.  I titled this entry this way because I spent the first week reviewing. I am glad to say that my mom and I did well at the fair; I received first place for my entry and my mom received several firsts and a few seconds.  My younger brother won first for a "face" he made our of veggies.  I think the part that my brothers enjoy the most is the fair food.  I like to watch the horse pulls, and the horse show.  My cousin Shae and I spend a lot of time walking around too.

  I am busy getting ready for the Haddam Neck Fair this weekend.Going to the fair for Labor Day has been a tradition for many years. It seems strange to be only entering one thing rather than the usual four or five. I was disappointed to see that I could not enter the Jr. Baking Contest as I have done the past four years, and the fair dose not have a senior division. My mom is entering several flower arangements as usual. She is working on them now. Wish us luck!!!!!!!
