Welcome
Jun. 6, 2008 - What a Week

We are approaching the end of the week and I have to say that I am so glad. Well, it seems that a lot has went wrong in most areas of our world but yet we need to be thankful. Afterall, it could be worse, although I shudder  at the thought. So, next week will be better and joy comes in the morning!

My mom and youngest sister came over to catch up on the dishes. This was so nice but at the same time, very weird. In 18 years of marriage, I have never had any outside help. She is coming tomorrow to mop. I hope that she sees that we can keep on top of it and won't feel the need to help anymore. I'd just rather her come and have coffee!

We did minimal school this week but hopefully can pick it up this coming week despite my not being able to write. We have two more week's worth of schooling and a week's worth of paperwork for me. We are indeed taking off July just to try and get settled with the addition. Then hopefully when August comes we will be recharged for a year better than this year.

James is working a lot with the heay wave that has hit. He's out again tonight, working late again. His coworker will be out of town and the owner will be at a golfing tournament. It wouldn't be so bad if James got paid for overtime.

I have given up on the dream of a garden this year. I am SO disappointed as I know this coming year we need the produce more than ever. Hopefully we can have a fall and winter garden to make up for lost times.

I think this pretty well covers this week! Next week we will be celebrating two birthdays. Samuel will be nine and Brittany will be a mature but sweet fourteen. I told her not to grow up and she's rebelling.

Have a great weekend!

Would this work? I don't know if you have seen it but there was an episode on the Little House on the Prairie that something had happened that the men had to go off to find work and left the women and children to tend the home fires, Laura was trying to save the tree lot, and all the kids from her little school all took turns going to each others houses, to do the watering, weeding, tending etc. I wonder if the youth group of your church would be willing to put in your summer garden for you if you provide the tiller, plants, etc and of course lemonade and yummies to keep them hydrated and filled? I mean you won't be wearing that cast for long and if you had the money/resources you could provide whats needed to get it planted, plus straw to keep the weeds down and by the time it starts producing well you will be out of your cast, in the mean time you could supervise your older children in tending it until then, I mean once its planted?
Just a thought.
Wish I lived closer I would help you out!!
Ok just me rambling!!

I know how tiring it can be when hubby's have to work a lot of OT (I am SO sorry that he isn't paid for it--)

I try to just keep up the minimum when hubby is working a lot--

Hope you are able to get some rest and ENJOY the summer--- and your children..

I have a REALLY hard time accepting help (PRIDE)-- but I am glad you have it when you need it!! Some are called and LOVE to serve-- and some of us (ME) needs to learn to accept and be THANKFUL... (a lesson I really need to learn).

Have a wonderful day!!

I wasn't able to have a garden last year and was disappointed also. I visited many farmer's markets and was able to get some good deals that way. I hope you are feeling better soon.
It is nice that you have the extra help but I know how you feel.
Blessings,
Ruth
