While You All Were Sleeping...

I will not do that again!!
I'll explain:

Last night, around 6pm, during my dd's ballet class, I decided to go through the Starbuck's drive-thru.  I had a gift card from Christmas to use and I had only just recently discovered that this outlet had a drive-thru.  (A note about the 'drive-thru': I love them! Not necessarily for fast food though, but to get a cup of coffee! If I have to unload all my kids from the van to go in and get a coffee and then load them all up again, it's just not worth it! Besides, my drink would be cold! -unless, of course it's an iced cappuccino!  And having a card to pay for it makes it even easier!! Now if I could just get a jug of milk and a loaf of bread the same way!)
Back to my story:
I decided to order something different, well, I'm forced actually, because they have discontinued almond syrup-my favourite flavour to add to a latte.
In ordering a new concoction, I forgot to say "decaf
"!!
I didn't remember until I was driving away!
I had a perfectly good cup of coffee that was fully loaded.

You see, I stopped drinking caffeine a few years ago.
Yes, I know there is still some in decaf coffee and teas(and chocolate), but not as much.
I discovered after going out for dinner one night that I couldn't get to sleep due to the coffee I had had.   Then with always being pregnant or nursing a baby, I just cut it out of my diet.

So, I thought I'd just drink half of it.  I couldn't let it go to waste!
I ended up drinking a little more than half, it was good(I ordered something with caramel added that I couldn't pronounce.) and I figured it was early enough in the evening.

I was wrong!
The last time I saw my alarm clock, it read 1:00am!
I went to bed around 10:30 and read for a while, but as I tried to doze off, I could feel my brain spinning!!
I lay there listening to my dear Hubby snoring breathing peacefully thinking that if I just kept still I'd fall asleep.
I thought about getting up, but I didn't really want to do that.  So, I did lots of thinking and praying.  When else do I get a chance of uninterrupted quiet, just to think and pray?  Might as well take advantage of it!

I did eventually crash, but there will be no more caffeine for me!
At least not in that amount!

I've made that mistake a few times!
I try to stick with decaf.

I am totally with you on this! If I drink caffeine after lunch,my night's sleep is interrupted. My heart starts to race! You know, they give premature babies caffeine in the NICU to keep their heats beating.
