Today's Daybook

Outside My Window...warm and sunny, actually it's hot and sunny, yesterday was a scorcher, we have a thermometer that read 42C in our backyard!! (That's about 109F for those of you in the States.)  Today is only supposed to be 31C (89F)! Bring on the popsicles!!

I am thinking...of something our pastor said yesterday...that "every moment is a 'holy moment' and so even when he is playing with his sons it is a 'holy moment'."  He is fully present and enjoying being with them.  A moment given by God, not to be missed. 'Spiritual life' not to be separated from 'daily life', but one in the same.

I am thankful for...ice-cream!  I'm also thankful for the two picnic tables that Hubby built for our deck over the weekend, and the clothes line that he put up,... no more dryer!!

From the kitchen...iced mochas, with ice cubes made from coffee blended with chocolate milk, I haven't tried them yet, but I'll let you know how it turns out!

I'm also trying a menu from Menus 4 Moms.

Monday: Sloppy joe pizza, salad, yogurt&fruit
Tuesday: Waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit
Wednesday: Taco crescent bake, salad, Spanish rice
Thursday: Chicken and mushrooms in wine, angel hair pasta, a vegetable(it says asparagus, but nobody in our family likes asparagus!)
Friday: Grilled burgers, veggies, macaroni and cheese, and cake
We might have to do some tweaking in the recipes to fit our family and it might be too hot to turn the oven on, but at least I have a plan!

I am wearing...beige maternity shorts, navy blue sleeveless maternity T-shirt, and I'm barefoot, thankful that I've had a haircut recently and it's off the back of my neck!

I am creating...honestly, I'm not feeling very creative today, although if I really thought about it, I'm sure I'll create something!

I am going...unfortunately I need groceries, I really don't want to go out in this heat! Maybe I'll wait until tonight when it's cooler.

I am reading...The Heart of Wisdom by Robin Sampson

I am hoping...that the temperatures drop a little!

I am hearing...the hum of my computer, my boys listening to a Narnia CD, one son is quizzing the other on Narnia facts.

Around the house...laundry needs to be put away, a dishwasher waits to be unloaded, the kitchen floor needs a good sweep,

One of my favorite things...a tall glass of iced tea

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: to stay cool, to buy some strawberries from a local farm(they are late this year because of our wet Spring, but the sun has made them extra sweet!), to go to a park with a new friend,

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

The strawberries look absolutely wonderful!! I miss fresh strawberries!

We're originally from Mich-we now live in the Phoenix area-and the strawberries are just not the same out here.

I wouldn't move back, though. This is our Canaan!!

Thanks for sharing,
Robyn

Enjoyed reading your Daybook entry. Found your blog from the Simple Woman list.
Nice blog! Hope it's cooler for you soon. Here in NYS (capital region) the high humidity finally broke!

I hope that your weather cools down some like ours has. We are experiencing cooler than usual temps and I love it!
