Our Routine

This year I have created a much looser schedule than last year. I think, realistically, it will work better for us.
This is the daily schedule that I have made for the kids:
8-8:30 get up, get dressed, eat breakfast
8:30-9:30 tidy bedroom, pick up laundry, make bed, kitchen helper(they take turns), daily chore(different every day),
9:30-10 Bible reading with me, work on Bible notebook
10-12 School time: this includes individual scheduled activities, my older two will be free to choose which subject they work on as long as the assignment is done by the end of the week. I will also schedule our History , Geography and Art for certain days, but I'm still working this out.
12-1 Lunch, clean-up, fold laundry
1-1:30 Quiet reading time(this is where they read on their own, I sometimes read to the little ones or put on a little movie and go take a nap!!)
1:30-2 Read aloud with me, this is where we would read a novel together,
2-3 School time, again this is free time to do school work, unless I have a nature walk etc. planned.
3 and on dinner prep, housework, bake etc(this would be free play time unless the kids are involved in something that I'm doing)

That is the main framework of our day and I am sure we will have lots of little breaks. If the kids finish their work and there is still 'school time' left, then I have plenty of educational activities that they can choose to do during those times.
I am trying to plan a preschool activity bag swap, so that I can have some special things for my little ones to do. Right now I let them pick something that they can play with while I'm busy with school. It usually works. My 4yr old is now wanting to learn his letters and so he likes to be up at the table with us.
I also have a baby coming in about 4 weeks, so I know that it will be chaotic for a while, but at least the kids will have something to follow. I can direct things from the couch!
