Our Newest Family Member

For this week's Show and Tell, I'd like to introduce the latest addition to our family.
Her name is Grace(already dubbed Gracie) and she's 5 months old.

We have been talking about getting a kitty for months.  Chickadee has wanted one for ages(If she can't have a horse, she's more than happy to settle for a cat!).
Before Christmas we discovered rats in our garage(of which I'm thoroughly disgusted and I can't believe I'm admitting it to the world!).  This finalized our decision to get a cat, but we would wait until after the holidays.
So, this week Hubby went to a local animal shelter and we adopted her.  This is the first real pet, other than fish, our kids have had.
2yr old Magpie is scared of her.  She likes the idea of a kitty-cat, as long as it doesn't come near.
It has been an interesting week; Gracie getting used to us(and we're a lot to get used to!) and us getting used to her.
Next on our list will be a dog.  Hubby wants a Boxer, but it won't happen until our yard is properly fenced.
Here's a couple more pictures(it was hard to get a good shot as she was quite skittish at first):

Oh, she is adorable!! Sometimes when I see an exceptionally cute kitty I wish we didn't have allergies. Have fun with her!! I'll bet it's fun watching her learn her new home and getting adjusted to the children - and them to her, lol!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Shani

She is precious! How wonderful to add a furbabie to your family. Your youngest will adjust to her. Especially when she discovers that kitty will play with her.

Adorable! I am jealous - but not about the vermin in your garage. Yuck. Maybe you should call have the cat 'Mighty Hunter'.

What a sweet face. We can't have a cat because of my dh's allergies. Have fun with your new kitty.
Blessings,

She is a real cutie! Children always have fun with kitties so your new addition will be a lot of fun for your family (as well as productive in catching things!)
