Artwork

I love the artwork of children!
It is so free and expressive.
I sometimes wish I could be more like that!

Today I'm sharing some the recent masterpieces created around here.

The above drawing is by Skylark, he's almost 4yrs.
I love this one because the 'body/head' with long skinny legs on the left, is me(ha ha!) and the other 'being' in my 'body/head' is(not my nose, but) the "baby in my tummy".
Children are so precious!

Chickadee drew this one(above).  She received a sketchbook for Christmas and has been busy filling it.  All those blank pages!!
She drew the grapes looking at a picture in a book and the banana was drawn "from her head".

And my other two sons asked to do this History project.
They drew their own coat of arms.
Apparently the dragon(top one) is not finished...oops.

Thanks for stopping by here today!

My Budding Artists

We have been using Artistic Pursuits this year as part of our Fine Art studies.  I have to say that so far, I absolutely love it!  It's one of the only art appreciation studies that actually contains prints of the paintings.  It says to affix them into the book, but  I like to have them on display as we're studying them.  It also gives information that is written a bit like a story, about the time period, the painter and an art activity to go along with it.

One of our recent assignments was to paint a building.  It was supposed to be local, but the weather was wet and so instead of going for a walk to find one, we looked in books.

Here are my sons interpretations of:

P1010769

The Eiffel Tower

and...

P1010770

The Taj Mahal

Raven's complaint about the Taj Mahal was that it had no colour.  So he decided to add some!

Chickadee's painting isn't finished yet.  She's a perfectionist and so it might not be done for a while.

Thanks for dropping in!
