The Husband Tag

Well, I'm finally doing the 'Husband Tag' that Shani

tagged me with last week.  This one seems to be on everyone's blog lately!

Blue About You by Romero Britto
Blue About You

1. Who is your man?

Hubby

2.  How long have you been together?

We'll be married 14 years this September!

3.  How long dated?

8 months(don't tell Dr Laura, we didn't follow her 2 year rule!)

4.  How old is your man?

2 years older than me!

5.  Who eats more?

He does, unless it's chocolate!

6.  Who said "I love you" first?

He did, it took me a while, I don't think I truly understood the real meaning of love.

7.  Who is taller?

He is, by 3 1/2 inches

8.  Who sings better?

Probably me, but I think he has a good voice.

9.  Who is smarter?

It depends on the subject!

10.  Whose temper is worse?

Hmmm...

11.  Who does the laundry?

Moi!

12.  Who takes out the garbage?

Normally me, but right now He does because I'm pregnant!

13.  Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?

It depends which way you're facing, but I always have slept closer to the door.

14.  Who pays the bills?

Me

15.  Who is better with computer?

I guess I am, but I still don't know very much!

16.  Who mows the lawn?

He does

17.  Who cooks dinner?

That role is constantly changing.  Mostly me on weekdays and often he does if I'm out at ballet classes with dd.  He also cooks when I've just had a baby or even for big dinners, like Christmas! He loves to cook and I really appreciate that quality in him!

18.  Who drives when you are together?

He does, I've only driven with him as a passenger once!

19.  Who pays when you go out?

He does

20.  Who is most stubborn?

Hmmm...

21.  Who is the first to admit when they are wrong?

I think we've both gotten better at it over the years.

22.  Whose parents do you see the most?

Mine

23.  Who kissed whom first?

He kissed first.

24.  Who asked who out?

That's a weird story.  It was kind of mutual, but I had to prompt him to make the first move.

25.  Who proposed?

He did, on one knee, at the beach!

26.  Who is more sensitive?

We both are.

27.  Who has more friends?

He knows more people than me, but I have a couple of really close friends.

28.  Who has more siblings?

I do

29.  Who wears the pants in the family?

He does.

30.  How did you meet?

We actually met in my parent's kitchen. My stepdad introduced us, but it wasn't until he came to my church, that we truly 'met'.
One day, I should tell the story!

Well, that's my Hubby and me! It's good to think of all the fun, happy things in our relationship.  Life can be hectic and stressful, we need each other to walk through it all together.  That's how God wants it and I am thankfully blessed.

I'm not tagging anyone specific, but this is a fun tag to do, feel free to do it and be sure to let me know.

Then give your man a big kiss and thank God for him!

A Chuckle!

Photobucket

I love to bake with my kids.
Ever since they were old enough to stand on a chair to reach the counter-top and hold a spoon, they've been my little 'helpers'.
(Now my dd will bake on her own, without any assistance from me!)
However, I do have to have the right mindset when I invite the young'uns into my kitchen.  It cannot be at the end of the day, when I'm feeling frazzled!

So, I read this in a newsletter and I thought I'd share it because it gave me a chuckle:

Baking a Cake with your Child's Help
Author Unknown

Preheat oven.

Check to be certain that there are no rubber balls or plastic soldiers on the oven shelves.

Remove blocks and toy autos from table.

Grease pan.               Crack nuts.

Measure 2 cups flour; remove Johnny's hands from flour; wash flour off him.         Re-measure flour.

Crack more nuts to replace those Johnny ate.

Put flour, baking powder and salt in sifter. Get dustpan and brush up pieces of bowl Johnny knocked on floor.

Get another bowl.     Answer doorbell.      Return to kitchen.

Remove Johnny's hands from bowl. Wash Johnny. Answer telephone. Return.

Remove 1/4 inch salt from greased pan.

Look for Johnny. Grease another pan. Answer telephone.

Return to kitchen and find Johnny.

Remove his hands from bowl.

Take up greased pan and remove layer of nut shells in it.

Head for Johnny, who runs, knocking bowl off table.

Wash kitchen floor, table, walls, dishes.

Call bakery, place order. Take two aspirin. Lie down.

Head on over to SchoolinRhome's
blog to enter a Mother's Day give-away.  Just leave her a comment telling her why you're happy to be a mom and the drawing is next Friday.

Also, if you want to nominate a special mom that you know of,
 The Heart of the Matter
is hosting a give-away too.  Just remember that this give-away is not for yourself, but for you to nominate another mom, especially one who deserves a special blessing.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Clogs!!

You Are Clogs
You are a solid and down to earth person.
You seek – and almost always achieve – a really sound balance in your life.

You are stylish yet comfortable. Mellow but driven. Excited yet calm.
You are the perfect mesh of contradictions.

No matter what happens, you have the ability to stay well grounded in your life.
People know that they can truly depend on you.

You should live: In Europe

You should work: At a company dedicated to helping the world
What Kind of Shoe Are You?

What amazes me about this, is that all of this information was gathered about me, by only answering 5 questions!!
And yes, I'd love to live in Europe!
I also had a pair of clogs when I was about 11.  They were the kind with leather on the top, but the bottom was wooden.  The leather was brown with tiny white daisies painted on the strap! Very Hip!!

Randomly...

Well, I snuggled in to watch Mansfield Park on Sunday night.  It was better than Northanger Abbey, but I still felt they could've expanded a little more. Especially at the beginning, there could've been a little more detail about "Fanny's" home life.  And they skipped the part where she goes home for a while.  The actor that played "Edmund" did a good job, but it bothered me that "Fanny's" hair wasn't done up.  She looked like she'd just stepped out of the 90's and it was always messy.
Still, I will continue to watch with anticipation...

I have been tagged by A Thread in Time.
If you visit her blog you'll see that she is indeed very talented with a needle and thread.

Here are my 6 Random Things About Me:

1. I like pomegranates. Tedious, but tart.
2. I'm so glad they brought Trading Spaces back in it's (almost)original form.
3. I like musicals and plays and I'm waiting for Chickadee to get older so we can enjoy them together.
4. I love the feeling of punching down bread dough after it has risen.
5. I am not a night owl.  My brain shuts down somewhere between 9-10pm.  Don't ask me important questions after that.
6. I could easily get addicted to beach towels.  I love all of the different, colourful patterns and how soft they are.  How many beach towels does one family need??

I choose not to tag anyone particular, but feel free to do the tag if you want.  If you do, let me know so I can visit your blog.
Have a lovely day!!

The Homescholer's 23 Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
He maketh me to live on less sleep;
He leadeth me through the noise of many voices.

He restoreth my soul;
He leadeth me to teach the right lessons each day,
for His names sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of undone
Laundry and kitchen messes,
I will fear no evil:
For thou art with me,
my teacher's guides and answer keys,
they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
of threatening school officials and critical family members.
Thou anointest my head with heavenly wisdom,
my cup runneth over.

Surely educated and godly children shall follow after me
All the days of my life and I will dwell again one day
In a clean house with the Lord forevermore.

Blessings to you today in your homeschooling!
(The above poem was in our homeschool support group newsletter with no author named.  If there is an author, let me know so I can give credit.)

I'm a Turkey?!

You Are a Turkey Sandwich
Conservative and a bit shy, you tend to stick with what you know and trust.
You are very introverted, and you prefer to blend in whenever possible.
Though you may be hard to know well, anyone who does know you considers you a true friend.

Your best friend: The Ham Sandwich

Your mortal enemy: The Tuna Fish Sandwich
What Kind of Sandwich Are You?

I found this over on Canadagirl's
blog.
I couldn't resist either.
Just looking at the picture is giving me a craving.
I think I know what I'll be having for lunch!!
