Today was the day to put up mini blinds in my girls' rooms. This is something that has not been done since we moved into this house 3 years ago! "What?! 3 years ago?", you say. Yes, we've actually had sheets hanging in the windows for 3 years. Why? Well, because we got so busy with every day life that we just quit fixing this place up. We got burned out and then just left it. We got to where we didn't notice things like that.
Usually my husband does this type of stuff for me, but today, I decided that if it was going to ever be done, I was going to have to do it. It was one of the things on my short list of things to do for the realtor and I can do this. So.. I go to find my husband's cordless drill and can't find the bits to stick in the end. I'm a little irked that I can never find any of the right tools when I need them, but then remember where the cordless screwdriver is. Of course, it's not charged. So...it was slow going as I could screw in a bit and then wait for it to recharge...or do it manually which was harder and I couldn't seem to get the right angle. The cool thing is that it's done! And you know, sometimes I make things harder than they really are. I'm kicking myself for letting that last for 3 years when I could've had it done in 30 minutes. The girls are thrilled with the new look of their windows. |

And yes, sometimes we just need to jump in there and do it ourself...I too tend to wait for my husband to find the time to accomplish things that I can handle on my own.
