This was one of those great days where you get a lot done and have fun doing it. I'm not one that likes to stay home all the time. Yes, I'm a stay at home mom and yes, I like to go all the time and yes, I know I need to stay home more often to get the things done that I need to do. That said, this day was actually planned to be busy so I could accomplish a lot and I was just hoping that it would all roll along smoothly so I didn't come home completely frazzled, especially with 4 kids in tow.
We started our day by heading to a field trip at Safari Zoological Park. The tour didn't take as long as we had planned but the kids really enjoyed it. I wasn't sure it was quite worth the money, but considering the park has been struggling financially, overall, I didn't mind pitching in. My 3 year old did get pretty scared by a Siberian tiger who came out of her hiding place a little bit grumpy. After that, we headed towards Bartlesville to eat lunch with some friends and run some errands I had planned. We went to the library (spent at least an hour there), to Lowes to get some supplies for the house project, to the mall to get my oldest son's hair cut and his pics taken and then my hair cut when we finally piled back in the van for the hour ride home but not before making a stop for a snack. We were all worn out but I was so amazed at how well behaved my kids were and I felt like I got a ton accomplished and did it with a good attitude all day. The kids were so patient waiting for pictures to be taken and hair to be cut. Maybe it helped to have something fun for them at the beginning of the day. I don't know. If I knew taking 4 kids out would be this easy, I'd do it more often....of course, it's not normally this easy! and then I'd never be home to do the things I'm supposed to be doing as a Stay at HOME mom. We finalized our day by whipping this place back into shape and now we're all exhausted but it's a satisfying exhaustion. How was your day? |
