Productive Day!

I just love having productive days!  Our master bedroom has been the dump all room.  You would not believe the amount of stuff that we manage to hide in that room (or not hide....except by a door).  On top of that, our bed has been broken for some time and I've been waiting for it to colapse underneath us, but the project has seemed too big to tackle alone with my husband being away a lot in the evenings.  After reading an article written by Steve Maxwell in the Homeschool Enrichment Magazine I decided to give my son Baylee and I a project that we could work on together and hopefully surprise daddy when he got home from work.  (You can get a free issue of the magazine by clicking here)  It was Baylee's day to learn how to take down and put up a bed.  I was amazed at how quickly the whole room came together.  It's funny though, I got used to seeing all the clutter in there.  Now it seems so bare....the walls are so empty.  I really need to get some pictures up in there now!  On top of the room, I went through all the baby clothes, did a couple loads of  laundry, cleaned up the kitchen twice, cleaned up the front room and felt great about all that I accomplished!  I even managed to cook dinner for my family which is actually kind of rare for me when I'm getting so many other things accomplished around the house.  Sometimes I think that I can't cook if my energy is spent elsewhere.  I know...that's silly....that's my job, to feed my family something good and nutritious.  I guess today makes up for yesterday when I accomplished absolutely nothing to speak of!

It seems like every day that I clean the kitchen a kazillon times in order to keep the counters free of crumbs, stickies, papers, books, dishes, etc. For the most part my family cleans up behind themselves. Steve's mom used to say she believed that I have some kind of kitchen "help" that followed me around and messed things up. It's an unsolved mystery. Hugs, J
