We've been having some fun this week in our history lessons. Yesterday we briefly covered the history of ancient Egypt and today was the Minoan culture. One thing I love about Mystery of History is that all of the activities that you would do after a lesson are pretty easy and you don't need much other supplies or thinking ahead (which is much needed by me!). I use Story of the World alongside Mystery of History when it fits and I like it, too but the projects are always a lot more labor intensive and need planning for. They're not as bad as many curriculums, but when you're as disorganized as I seem to be, I don't want to have to make sure I have certain colors of paint or go to a lot of extra work in order for a project to be ready.
Here's some pictures of our fun. We've been printing them and putting them in their school notebook so that they can look back over them and see what fun they had!
Mummies
We wrapped our stuffed animals in toilet paper and then we wrapped the kids....they were all itchy and could hardly stand being still that long!

Bull Jumping
We learned about how the Minoan people who lived on the island of Crete would have bull jumping for their entertainment. We did our own version of bull jumping...which was basically leapfrog. They loved it though... no handstands on top of the bull were allowed though...lol.

To finish this project off, we had a coloring page of a real bull jumper along with a story out of Story of the World.
