Musings in Spring Weather
Our weather has finally taken a turn for the better, although it has been rather cold the last few days. Our family has been able to get out to see other homeschooling families much more. It is such a joy to fellowship with fellow homeschoolers. We are a different breed of people. We see the world in a different light. When we get together it is like being with family, as we are on the same wave length.
I recently met a family with ten children; nine born and one in the oven. What a joy to see so many children in one family. I spoke to one of my non-homeschooling friends and she almost had to sit down just thinking about all those kids. The contrast of how we see the world really hit me as I was talking to my non-homeschooling friend.
Our area has seen many new families. The greatest blessing is that many of them are homeschoolers. What a wonderful surprise to having more families in our community. Most of these families believe in the same values that most homeschoolers build their lives; God, family and then work.
Our discussions have turned to field trips and all the opportunities now that we are not knee deep in snow. I would love to hear from other homeschoolers about what field trips they have taken now that the weather is better. Please feel free to leave comments. |
