I was watching the morning news with my husband and heard that my stay at home status is worth a lot of money.  I couldn'r believe my ears.  Finally some researchers decided to look into how much a stay at home mom is worth.  I was very surprised when I saw how much my paycheck should be for the year.

They are figuring that mom's do multiple jobs and took the pay rate for each of these jobs and added it all together.  I loved this, although there is a part where they say that working moms are worth this amount plus their career paychecks.  What do they know really??  Here are the job titles that they are including in the stay at home mom's role:

Housekeeper

Day Care Center Teacher

Cook - Institution

Computer Operator I

Laundry Macheine Operator

Facilities Manager

Janitor

Van Driver

Psychologist

Chief Executive Officer

You can check out this article to see what I am talking about.  Also you can go to Mom's Salary Wizard to find out how much they think you are worth.  It is totally customizable and at the end of it you can print a paycheck with your pay all broken down for the year.  Very cute if you ask me.  I am sure that they have left out a few jobs in that list.  Such as doctor and gardener.  Can you think of any more?  Now if I could get this paycheck for real then I could work on getting the money to school each of my kids that Lyn is blogging about here.  Oh well, I can dream.  I still love what I do with or without pay.
