A First Even For Me

Posted in Just for Fun

Today I had to run by the library to pick up some books that I had on hold. This is a regular occurance in my life. I knew there were a lot of books waiting for me. I convinced my husband to come with me.  I knew I would need help to carry all the books.  I was expecting there to be about 20 books.  Now this is not a big deal as I always have a lot of books waiting for me.  In fact they usually see me coming and start getting the books off the shelf before I can come around the counter.

They only got me confused once and that was with my good friend Andrea who also has a habit of putting lots and lots of books on hold.

Anyways today was a record breaker for me.  The nice lady behind the counter told me that I had hit the limit.  I had 33 books and I could only take out 30 per day.  It is no big deal since I can go back tomarrow and check out the others.  It was really hard for me to leave knowing that there were still books on the shelf.  They were happy to have their shelf back, besides the three leftovers.

I must add that I would have been within the library lending limits if my husband hadn't checked out 6 books.  But I figure that was the least he should get for carying all those books to the car for me.  He had to make 2 trips.

I thought this was pretty funny.  I'm sure there are others out there like me. The ones who have a shelf behind the counter at the library that almost always has at least one book on it waiting for them.

By the way Andrea I think I saw one there for you.

May. 17, 2007 - LOL!

I could so relate to your post! In fact, I have posted on this myself. My dh detests stopping at the library for me. The librarian teases him and asks him if he brought a wheelbarrow and truck. LOL
I picked up books today, but only had 12 things on the shelf this time. I also almost always owe money-ugh.
What a very pretty blog you have!! Holly

I haven't had that problem yet, but all six of us have cards and I usually make at least 2 trips to the library each week on my way to work. I didn't even know there was a limit - thanks for the info! :-)

Love ya,
~Andrea

May. 18, 2007 - Love the library too!

We just got home from the library ourselves. Last week we got so many books I could barely carry them all, thus breaking my "If you can't carry the books, you can't get them" rule. I need to get one of those rolling carts. Thanks for leaving the kind comment today. It's funny because I just downloaded the free graphics you are using on your blog! I don't think I will use the exact same ones, but we may look similar in a few weeks! Nice to meet you. We like books and the same graphics. We must have a lot in common.
Jenn
